Wills and Harry rift blown out of proportion

I've thought all along that the so-called "feud" between the brothers has been exaggerated by the media. Brothers fall out as anyone with sons will tell you. Usually they make it up and everything is forgotten, but with Harry leaving the country and the press delighting in nasty gossip, a small disagreement has grown into all out war.
At least one reporter thinks as I do.

What don't you get Lucca? That tiny bit of news is news, just that. I thought we were discussing prolific abundance of stories and images iin the media here.
It took up 30 seconds of my day today, Along with baking the morning bread, walking the dogs, now off to French group on the beach and my haircut at 2.30 pm. Oh yes, and barbecue with the family this evening.

Ellianne

Sorry but I couldn't resist this lovely image in EVERY paper today.

I just don’t get it.

What women ?

Galaxy Fri 23-Apr-21 09:06:54

God these poor women.

Anniebach Fri 23-Apr-21 09:04:44

How wise of Kate to take the photographs of their children herself.

Sweet little boy

Prince Louis turns three, though it could be any normal kid.

Yep. Dragons' Den tonight. All about controlling data.
All the dragons saw the opportunity for the business.

It's not just your friends. Social media collects information about you using your search history, your shopping habits and other interactions on line. It's all done with algorithms. It means that when you search on line you will get different results from another person doing the same search.
There's a simple explanation here www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zd9tt39

It doesn’t even mean they are clicking on RF posts, it may mean that their friends are ‘liking’ these RF posts, and it will then show up on their pages.

Thanks maddyone, so that's how it works.
If a friend comments it will show up on my FB newsfeed.

Lucca

I don’t understand this thing about “it’s all over Facebook “ it definitely isn’t on mine !!

My privacy settings are high but even so, Cornwall Live, The Independent etc etc manage to creep in with their views on H&M

Lucca The "fists clenched" posts was by a "body language" expert" who had deduced that William was stressed at having to walk with Harry. By reading it to see what he was on about, I also read in the comments one by an ex-forces guy, who pointed out that when soldiers are walking at a funeral, as these men were, they are trained not to swing their arms briskly about, but to let them hang loosely by their side, hands closed and thumbs to the front - as all the half-a-dozen men in the photo were doing. The ones I recognised were all ex-forces, even Edward was long enough in the Marines to get some basic marching training.

Reading the comments as well as the headline meant I knew WHY I shouldn't trust the person who had rushed to put in his two-penn'orth of amateur psychology. Facebook contains a lot of rubbish, but also some sensible people who try to counter some of the codswallop.

Does it matter? Can we not just comment on something that’s in the public domain without all this analysing?

maddyone Thu 22-Apr-21 19:31:47

Well you could be right Galaxy, in that respect at least. But not all those who see the posts may have wanted to see the posts, on Facebook at least. I see quite a few things on Facebook that I’m not interested in, I just scroll past them.

Galaxy Thu 22-Apr-21 19:25:46

So it's a supply demand thing then.

maddyone Thu 22-Apr-21 19:20:33

In fairness it’s not on my Facebook either, but that doesn’t mean it’s not all over other Gransnetter’s pages. It doesn’t even mean they are clicking on RF posts, it may mean that their friends are ‘liking’ these RF posts, and it will then show up on their pages.

trisher Thu 22-Apr-21 18:54:02

I'm on Facebook, Never get anything about the RF. Not surprising really because they tailor things to fit our interests. So if you are getting info about the RF you've done something to attract them.
It's funny how people know exactly what is going on but apparently have no interest in them

Er well I have no idea what you are talking about and I use a fair bit of social media and access lots of news. Facebook is not my thing as one of my friends has fallen down every conspiracy rabbit hole you could think of, and I am too soft to block her.

Lucca Thu 22-Apr-21 18:46:19

Anniebach

Someone should have clocked Harry one years ago ?

What a very Christian sentiment

Lucca Thu 22-Apr-21 18:45:57

Fists clenched. And instantly people on here decide why. Maybe that’s how they walk maybe they were upset at the grandfather dying. No?

Anniebach Thu 22-Apr-21 18:40:54

Elegran Thu 22-Apr-21 18:38:53

Galaxy You don't have to actually read the Facebook posts to see the headlines, or the photographs of men in morning suits following the DoE's coffin with (the body expert claims erroneously) their hands clenched into fists with the strain of not clocking Harry one. Except that apparently he only saw William's fists clenched.

Lucca Thu 22-Apr-21 18:27:35

Galaxy

But I do all those things, the only place I pick up info on M and H is on here. If any news on the rf comes on the TV I dont listen, in the way I don't listen to the football results. I am afraid there is a market or they wouldnt do it. People love the drama.

Me too. I hardly ever see stuff about them except his recent visit, which is fair enough. Everything else is on here.
