Mr Johnson and Mr Cummings

Demonic has suggested that Mr Johnson has been not entirely honest about his communications with James Dyson.

I recognise many people believe Mr J was ‘doing his best for the country in a pandemic’ when he offered to sort the tax for Mr Dyson. But, do we want ethical government or not?

The thing about. Cummings is that no one knows what his long term plan is. Or who’s pulling his strings. I’m still suspicious of those years he spent in Russia: something that doesn’t seem to get mentioned much. I don’t trust or believe any of them but assume that he has to tell the truth. Do they have to tell the truth when they come before these committees? Does anyone know the legal aspects of them?

I see the hand of Gove in this, I believe that Cummings advised him during his disastrous reign as Education Secretary. the whole thing is worthy of Shakespearian tragedy; sadly the real tragedy is that too many people in this country are either blind to Johnson's numerous and well documented faults, or just don't care as long as they got Brexit. Of course, that is going really well isn't it! I have a lot of respect for Dominic Grieves as a man who stood by his belief that staying in the EU was the right thing for this country. In other words, he put his principles before his political career. This current cesspit of a cabinet are like ferrets fighting in a sack, and a curse on all their houses.

A brave attempt lemon but it looks like you are on your own today. I keep repeating this I know, but the behaviour of Johnson and his cabinet should be angering every person in this country, he is a liar, a cheat, lazy, self serving and not to be trusted in what he says and does, but if it suits some people to completely throw over their personal principles just to get a Tory government then there is little I can say that will change their mind.

Anyone with principles cannot possibly support this government.

vegansrock Sat 24-Apr-21 12:25:24

They’re like rats in a sack aren’t they? I bet Johnson is worried about what will be leaked next.

This is probably Cummings’ ultimate aim. Isn’t he a bit of an anarchist?

Kali2 Sat 24-Apr-21 11:56:52

They all know so much about each other- and prepared to blackmail each other too. Nasty and rotten to the core, all of them. But wouldn't it be 'funny' (ahah) if Cummings brought them all down in the end.

It’s funny how people are now willing to belong Dominic Cummings, when this time last year he was accused of being a liar?

Not me ! I think they are all as bad as each other. I always said Dominic knew where the bodies were buried ! He’s a weasel, so is Gove, so is Boris. IMO of course.

My money is on Murdoch and the nodding donkeys.

If you have Sky tv or Now tv take a look at The Loudest Voice. It tells the story of how Roger Ailes set up Fox News for Murdoch in the USA. It was an even murkier set up than I thought and that’s saying something. Ailes is played brilliantly by Russell Crowe.

Dominic Cummings did get a lot of support from Gransnetters both for his 200 mile trip during a pandemic lockdown and for his 30 mile trip to test his eyesight with a four year old in the car, so will the same posters believe him now, or disbelieve him because he no longer a friend of Boris Johnson?

It is much more sort of put together than the other weird stuff he twitters on about.

I wonder if he had help?

Gove?

Isn’t DC’s wife a journalist as is Mr.Gove (Sarah Vine)?

It reads like he has had some guidance or a short journalism course

dominiccummings.com if anyone wants to read his Blog.

PippaZ Please can you show me where I have ^attacked people?

I have just come back from my local shop, I noticed the front pages of the Saturday papers, all running with Dominic Cummings headers.

The same papers that were trashing him and calling him a liar this time last year, are now hanging onto the words of his blog as if they are the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth ?

Who has inferred/said that GrannyGravy13 or are we just back with the "if you can't say anything about the politics on a politics thread you just attack people personally".

We are a few who see that as debate I feel.

Alegrias1 Sat 24-Apr-21 11:08:17

I don't believe either of them. Its not Cummings' pronouncements that make me think Johnston is a lying scumbag with no morals.

A plague on both their houses.

He may not go suziewoozie but then given enough rope - and he has certainly taken as much rope as he can - he just could and, for the sake of the country, we have to live in hope.

One thing is obvious, the international tide is turning. Trump has left and other than PTSD for his "fellow Americans it is quickly feeling as if it was all a bad dream and now the US has woken up. Trends that affect America usually end up affecting us too.

Alegrias1 Sat 24-Apr-21 10:47:57

You can almost see the cogs working in his brain. There was an interview on the TV after the DoE died where he referred to some environmentalists as bunny huggers. So Johnson obviously heard that and thought it was a nice phrase. confused. Greta Thunberg has changed her twitter bio to describe herself as a bunny hugger. Imagine someone who is praised as one of the best debaters of his cohort being shown up by an 18 year old.

Love this comment on twitter

“If you are going to employ a dead cat strategy, you should ensure that the cat is dead and not armed”

It shows just how stupid Johnson is.

Someone else commented that No 10 is beginning to look like Trump’s White House.

I'm looking forward to this. Cummings will know where all the bodies are buried whilst the Whips only know about some of them. There must be some very worried Ministers and MPs at the moment grin

You have to hope the committee asks the right questions. Hopefully there is time for a few "chatty rats" to get in touch with them.
