Mr Johnson and Mr Cummings

Demonic has suggested that Mr Johnson has been not entirely honest about his communications with James Dyson.

I recognise many people believe Mr J was ‘doing his best for the country in a pandemic’ when he offered to sort the tax for Mr Dyson. But, do we want ethical government or not?

As long as he keeps rolling out the vaccine at a fast rate, he can have what he likes in his flat IMO and I don’t mind who paid for it.

He has nothing to do with the rollout now. It's in the capable hands of Kate Bingham and the NHS.

Very sad that you don't care about corruption at the top...

You should mind. What does the person who paid for it want? Do you know?

Aveline Wed 28-Apr-21 16:41:29

I doubt he'd be a good after dinner speaker. He's so irritable. He probably couldn't hide his contempt for the poor diners who'll have had to pay a fortune for the privilege. Also, he's unlikely to dress appropriately!

He could probably earn a fortune on the after dinner speakers circuit.

I'm sure he'll never want for a bob or two.

Definitely Mr.Gove (if he ever left his employment)

Aveline Wed 28-Apr-21 16:11:30

Or Russia?

It occurs to me that Cummings isn't doing his work prospects much good. Obviously not very loyal or discreet. Once he's leaked his grubby selection of info as revenge then who'll employ him?

Micheal Gove.

It isn't Boris "rolling out the vaccine" it's the NHS (you know the ones who don't deserve a pay rise) and an army of volunteers. If only the same system had been allowed to do Track and Trace.

I wouldn't mind living in John Lewis to be honest

JaneJudge Wed 28-Apr-21 14:51:18

Maybe they could be forced to live inside an IKEA store for a couple of months with the occasional day trip to B&M home stores. John Lewis tat indeed.

Robert Peston
@Peston

The new terms of reference for Lord Geidt as Independent Advisor on ministerial interests confirms it is the PM who continues to decide whether a breach of the ministerial code warrants sanctions - and the implication is that this would mean he would decide whether to..
punish himself for failing to disclose he borrowed tens of thousands of pounds from the Tory party to redecorate his Downing St home. Hmmm. Do you think that Boris Johnson’s wisdom of Solomon will find against himself? The British way of justice is special

--No JohnLewis tat in sight--
?

I could do a lot with a £30,000 JL gift voucher.

Whitewavemark2 Wed 28-Apr-21 13:51:59

I wonder if Theresa May minded living in a skip.

this is the company who refurbed it but there are no pictures of wall hangings on there www.soane.co.uk/
It looks a bit William Morris in parts after he's been on a few dates with Vanessa Arbuthnott

Wasn't it 'golden wallpaper' rather than a wall hanging?

This is NOT the flat, but here's a taste of Carrie Antionette's chosen designer's work. No JohnLewis tat in sight

Johnson had £30k to spend on the flat. He reportedly overspent by £170K.

Is there anything he is any good at apart from producing unknown quantities of children.

Can you imagine how miffed he will feel if he is out in the next few months grin Silly man

Violet I don’t know what was said, but if you put a poster’s name within asterisks like this keepingquiet then it becomes more obvious.Or even better, use the quote function next to

Gold wall hangings? Are they similar to the Pugin inspired ones a certain gentleman once purchased?

PMQ’s are always a bear pit, a short time for the Opposition to do it’s best to outdo the government.Very few people actually watch it or care what goes on there.
What matters is lying to Parliament ( not any crimes about paying or not for soft furnishings, which is minor in comparison) if it can be proved that and MP or PM has lied, then it’s more serious. That’s why they don’t often answer things outright with a yes or no.

lemongrove Wed 28-Apr-21 13:11:25

Irony is wasted on some people ?

muffinthemoo Wed 28-Apr-21 13:09:40

I want to see the “gold wall hangings”. They sound absolutely fascinating.
