The government is in danger of being defeated by its backbenchers who are very concerned over Johnson cutting overseas aid.

The vote is to take place on Monday. No doubt the whips are busy.

That story was in the Daily Mail today: that’s pretty public.

A lot of posters sneer at articles in the Daily Mail. ?

It's in the Guardian too:

The Tories are putting just £50 per pupil into the education recovery fund. That's compared to £1,600 per pupil in the US and £2,500 in the Netherlands.

Why the difference? The Tories only care about the children of the super-rich, not the kids who've been hit

And that's in addition to removing money from the Pupil Premium funding and a new formula which has meant that funding for pupils with special needs and those in deprived areas has been cut.

The catch-up tuition schemes have been outsourced to recruitment agencies, which are making a profit, and (in some cases) recruiting non-qualified tutors and overseas students.

I expect people have read that the government's own "catch-up tsar", Kevan Collins, has resigned over inadequate funding.

In September 2020, there were over 600,000 empty homes in England. 216,000 of them had been empty for over six months.

The problem isn't that there aren't empty homes. The problem is that they're in the wrong places for jobs and people can't afford the rents.

What do you suppose is done for the asylum seekers WWM2 ?
We haven't got enough houses/ accommodation for those who live here.

Build thousands more affordable homes. Where are they going to put those families who are facing eviction any time ?

It’s called humane treatment.

I assumed that we are a civilised and civilising country, but not so it appears.

Covid still providing a smokescreen for their sins. They're hoping we forgive and forget the disaster that is Brexit. Remember Brexit was of their making, the greatest exercise in self inflicted nation self harm since Hitler led Germany against the world.

Yes, I've seen those stories in the press. It might have been in the Mail as well. Apologies to those offended.

So much emphasis and focus has been on covid, that a lot of what is happening is sliding quietly by, particularly as the media contrive to hide a lot of information.

So perhaps we can begin to record important stuff that needs to be in the public domain.
