Not at all, but the Eucharist doesn't have to be celebrated in church. As POTUS he could of course have had the priest visit the castle in which he was staying. He could have gone to a quiet Catholic church inland, not busy St Ives. Perhaps I was rather put off by the photo of the two of them kissing outside the church door on such an occasion.
Wilfred was in his own country, outside in the fresh air, but my comment was in reply to others saying that other politicians keep their babies out of the spotlight, at any time.

Receiving the Eucharist is not the same as attending mass. If someone is ill and can't attend mass, or because churches are closed due to covid, it is appropriate but not because people don't like to see people going to mass.

If Boris Johnson can get married in a Catholic cathedral after deciding to become CofE then I can't see that there is any need to criticise someone who has been a lifelong Catholic for practicing his religion.

There often seems to be an anti Catholic vibe going round.

I'll grant you that, but it did look rather hilarious with a mask on!

Mentioning a baby is anti-Boris.

To be fair Alegrias she didn't just mention a Catholic church. She accused a lifelong Catholic of using his church to promote himself. Maybe it is different in other denominations but it is what church going Catholics do. I remember as a child when we went on holiday the first thing my dad did after depositing at our accommodation was to go and find the nearest Catholic church and check the time of mass.

He also said that during WWII he did the same when he was in the navy, if they went into port you went to mass. He very much favoured the Latin mass as he felt truly connected with the service being in familiar form. Still maybe he was just attention seeking like sailors do.

I didn't think Ellianne did that. I think she used an example of people doing everyday things (going to church, taking the baby to the beach) and asking if everybody doing them was staging a publicity stunt. Which of course they're not.

I wouldn't have a war over haggis or sausages Ellianne. I'm mostly vegetarian.

I truly do not think that the world in general is going to be offended or disgusted by a photo of a 1 year baby sitting on the beach or being picked up by his mother wearing pull up trainer knickers and a T.shirt. If people worldwide are offended then there are some pretty sad people out there, and you can only feel sorry for them. Understandably these parents don't want his face revealed, for security reasons and to avoid the inevitable unkind derisory comparisons to his father, his mother too no doubt . People can be very nasty, and I guess B & C just don't want to hear unpleasant comments about their child,- I wouldn't either.

Thank you. We had enough anti Catholic stuff in the discussions about Johnson's wedding. Very annoying as you don't see it about other religions.

I don't imagine it would offend people, for me it just makes me think of his health. Children seem more susceptible to the Delta variant and the gathering of press and police from round the country would seem to increase the risk let alone people from various countries.

I know locally it has been reported that 2 police officers at the G7 have been confirmed positive, at least one is not from D&C force so I think the whole thing was a risk of spreading infection and personally I wouldn't want to take a child into that.

Actually I think it must have been risky for the Queen as well but at least she is an adult and can make her own decision.

Personally I think having Wilfred there was a great icebreaker for Carrie and Jill. As a young mum with her first baby, of course Carrie would want to show him off.

Totally agree mawbe ? I have been to that hotel and beach and it’s all very private and why not take the children it’s a beautiful place. Not sure what was wrong with what he was wearing he is a baby ? babies wear nappies

Totally agree it’s a world stage of high importance don’t need a toddler running around. Why use Cornwall for a climate change event I do feel sorry for the residents

Joe Biden went to a Catholic Church on Sunday because he has attended a Catholic Church on almost every Sunday for the whole of his life.

Though we have only seen the back of his curly little head, young Wilfred looks adorable.
I wish him a long and happy life. I also wish that he grows strong and rebellious, and that his father lives to see him become a great Socialist leader.

If it's OK for The Cambridges to take their children on official visits what's wrong with the Johnsons taking Wilfred.I am not a political person, but I get really brassed of with the Boris knocking let him and his family get on with what they have to.

The toddler wasn't running a round ad lib,he was with his mother sitting on the beach and briefly at the BBQ, again on the beach. As he's only just 1, running isn't really an option for him as he can barely toddle and his mother had to carry him. I hope he grows up health, wealthy and wise, in other words a great Conservative leader like his Dad.

I do feel sorry for his other children with Marina and Marina herself. Much more intelligent and wise enough to kick him out in the end. She's never spoken a word against him since the divorce but his children with Marina must be disgusted with the way their mother has been treated. I used to be a Boris fan but not anymore. You reap what you sow in this world.
