I thought in the Bashir interview she said she knew when it restarted? If it restarted it must have been stopped. Either way loving someone else doesn't mean he was in anyway involved in plotting to kill her. If we want to talk about convenient I'm sure it would have been more convenient if she'd had an accident before all the interviews, books and mud slinging.

How anyone can imagine that Charles would be involved in Diana’s death beats me. As the father of their two sons, it is unthinkable that he would do anything to leave his much loved children motherless, no matter what had gone on between them in their marriage.

It wasn't convenient and people must think he is a total monster if they really think he would do that to his children. He has always come across as a thoughtful and compassionate man, I know people can act out of character but this would have been cold and calculated so I don't think he would have anything to worry about with a police interview.

People talk like he was a suspect but the police talked to him as they would to anyone close to try and find out what they knew about what was in her mind.

It wasn’t actually that convenient for Prince Charles. The adoration and adulation for Diana from the general public was such that the RF had to back down on protocol, and it took years to get Camilla anywhere near acceptable. At least he did the decent thing in flying out to accompany her body home.

I wish people would remember two simple but key facts- the driver of Diana and Dodi’s car was over the limit and they were not wearing seat belts.
How could Prince Philip or the U.K. security services possibly have second-guessed such a monumentally stupid course of action when they could just as easily have ducked out of sight and stayed in the Ritz overnight?

Reading Diana’s letter you can see how paranoid she was becoming, a paranoia fed by Martin Bashir. If she really thought “they” were going to stage a car crash to kill her why on earth didn’t she have a seat belt on?

It was also banned because Wright was still bound by the Official Secrets Act which he, unlike for instance the wonderful code breakers at Bletchley Park, chose to ignore.

Very high profile people eg Heads of State, rarely wear seat belts on official duties. Not because of waving and creased clothes ? but because security need to get them out of the car quickly or to get them to dive and be covered by the security officer.

Are you sure Foxie48? Don’t they have to obey the laws of the land? After his accident the police threatened to take away PP’s driving licence so he surrendered it.

Dodi was not a Royal, and escaping the paparazzi at speed is not the same as “waving to the crowds” - and Royals eg driving themselves on “ordinary”:journeys are generally seen to belt up.
