MP continuing to sit - does the law need to be changed?

No, it's absolutely not acceptable. If he won't walk out, he should be thrown out.

This MP has admitted sexually harassing a member of his team, and has had the whip withdrawn, but has refused to resign and is entitled to continue to sit as an independent under the current parliamentary rules. Do you think this is acceptable?
