Had zero viewing figures

Oldwoman70 Sat 17-Jul-21 10:12:38

Can I just point out that it isn't compulsory to watch GBNews. If no-one watches it then it will fail - no need for anyone to get uptight about it

NotSpaghetti Sat 17-Jul-21 10:25:34

MerylStreep - do you know where I can find proper full length link please? I've only seen the 2 or so minutes and not the preamble.

I agree

Kali2 Sat 17-Jul-21 11:08:39

I have not watched it since it started- hopefully it will just die of its own volition,

How can you make an informed judgement on something you have not seen?

Basically you are relying on the opinions of others and political bias as opposed to seeing/listening and then deciding for yourself?

So you think my post was disingenuous
Believe me, I could have been more honest but the post would have been taken down, wouldn’t it?

Aveline Sat 17-Jul-21 11:30:06

Well this thread has inspired me to tune in to GB news more often. Thanks all!

What/who is ‘a right thinking person’ ?

The second cousin twice removed of a person with common sense.

Anniebach Sat 17-Jul-21 11:34:40

Thank you growstuff

I have started to watch it since I read this thread

MerylStreep Sat 17-Jul-21 11:52:17

Did you ever watch/see the lovely Simon McCoy on the bbc?
He does a very good program at 3o/clock every afternoon.
At the end of the program ( 6o/clock ) he does a segment of only good news.
It could be anything that people have sent in.
I don’t know how that happens because nobodies watching it are they. ( big fat sarcastic emoji needed)

Anniebach Sat 17-Jul-21 12:05:30

MerylStreep yes I watched his afternoon programme this week.

Just listened to Esther Mcvey and Caroline Flint , tory & Labour ! no political battle,

Bea65 Sat 17-Jul-21 12:14:39

I can't see subtitles on this channel which i like for viewing purposes so have switched back to Sky and BBC news...
Also have switched off GMB as Richard Madeley and John forget his name..don't like their presenting skills.find them annoying..quite liked Mr Shouty/Piers..at least he woke me up in the mornings?

I know enough about the people behind it, to know what they are about. And I have read enough factual verbatim reports too and seen a few videos. And yes, I do rely on the opinion of people who opinion I trust.

Who is it who slated me for saying I sometimes pick up the Sun or the DM when at a café (well not currently), or read the headlines in the Newsagent or at garage?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 17-Jul-21 12:48:53

It wasn’t me Kali2

Kali2 Sat 17-Jul-21 13:16:06

Never said it was- I honestly cannot remember.

MerylStreep Sat 17-Jul-21 13:20:52

Those 2 are often on together. They get on very well, don’t they.
That’s what I like about the station, a different slant/aspect of the news. And!!! commentators can say what they think ?

Kali2 Sat 17-Jul-21 14:59:35

So this happens and the GBnews boycott it and

''GB News attracted zero viewers during some of its broadcasts this week, according to official television audience figures produced by rating agency Barb, after a viewer boycott prompted by one of its presenters taking the knee in solidarity with the England football team.

The channel has now said the decision of Guto Harri to make the on-air gesture on Tuesday in solidarity against the racist abuse suffered by English players was “an unacceptable breach of our standards”. Wow, Free speech - where?

Says a lot - and says a lot more about those who have switched to that Channel.

Aveline Sat 17-Jul-21 15:30:16

Kali2 people in this country are free to watch what they want to watch on TV. No need to snipe at those who don't share your viewing preferences. Judging others is a two way thing.

Galaxy Sat 17-Jul-21 15:41:25

Yes and we are also free to discuss any programme we like, particularly one that claims to support free speech then suspends one of its presenters because of his speech/beliefs.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 17-Jul-21 15:45:38

With luck a broadcaster who encourages these culture wars which are focused on false dichotomies will fade into obscurity.

It is all nonsense.

Are you saying that GBNews isn't judgmental? I haven't watched it and have no intention of watching it. However, the snippets I've seen and the marketing seemed very judgmental to me. Are you saying that the presenters have no opinion about movements such as BLM or anything else they consider "woke"?

Chewbacca Sat 17-Jul-21 15:58:40

I don't like black pudding. I've never tried it, but I've spoken to others who have, and they said it's not very nice so I'm not going to try it and I hope all black pudding shops get closed down.

MerylStreep Sat 17-Jul-21 16:02:10

That’s ok because I feel the same about people who think that Kier Starmer is the living embodiment of the messiah.

Particularly if black pudding encourages false division in society that is too divided as it is and doesn’t need any further such lies based on nonsense.

MerylStreep Sat 17-Jul-21 16:14:04

Presenters on GB News have lots to say about BLM, particularly these 3 black women.
Mercy Muroki
Nana Akua
Inaya Florian Iman.
