Did you ever watch/see the lovely Simon McCoy on the bbc?
He does a very good program at 3o/clock every afternoon.
At the end of the program ( 6o/clock ) he does a segment of only good news.
It could be anything that people have sent in.
I don’t know how that happens because nobodies watching it are they. ( big fat sarcastic emoji needed)

Anniebach Sat 17-Jul-21 11:34:40

Thank you growstuff

I have started to watch it since I read this thread

growstuff Sat 17-Jul-21 11:31:24

What/who is ‘a right thinking person’ ?

The second cousin twice removed of a person with common sense.

Aveline Sat 17-Jul-21 11:30:06

Well this thread has inspired me to tune in to GB news more often. Thanks all!

So you think my post was disingenuous
Believe me, I could have been more honest but the post would have been taken down, wouldn’t it?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 17-Jul-21 11:14:51

Kali2

I have not watched it since it started- hopefully it will just die of its own volition,

How can you make an informed judgement on something you have not seen?

Basically you are relying on the opinions of others and political bias as opposed to seeing/listening and then deciding for yourself?

Kali2 Sat 17-Jul-21 11:08:39

Can I just point out that it isn't compulsory to watch GBNews. If no-one watches it then it will fail - no need for anyone to get uptight about it

I agree

NotSpaghetti Sat 17-Jul-21 10:25:34

MerylStreep - do you know where I can find proper full length link please? I've only seen the 2 or so minutes and not the preamble.

Galaxy Sat 17-Jul-21 10:07:34

Well GBNews obviously think there is right thinking or they wouldnt have suspended him. They are as guilty as deciding what speech/action is right as anyone else.

Whatdayisit Sat 17-Jul-21 10:07:12

I think we all like to think we are Granny Mrs Right on here!

Anniebach Sat 17-Jul-21 09:16:50

lemongrove Sat 17-Jul-21 09:12:39

?
Oh whitewave you and your ‘right thinking’...or should that be ‘left thinking’
Hmmm, ‘ interested in it’s demise’ ? How very peculiar....trying to shut down debate eh?

Aveline Sat 17-Jul-21 09:00:36

Oh no. You blew it by using the phrase 'right thinking'! Who says what's right or wrong?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 17-Jul-21 07:38:11

lemongrove

I don’t know why whitewave or any other poster trying hard to rubbish this new news outlet get so het up about it.
It obviously matters very much to them for some baffling reason?
Some of it is very good, other bits mediocre just like other news ‘n’ views programmes.

GBNews is a new broadcasting station that largely employs right wing journalists advertised itself as “anti-woke”

Of course I’m going to be interested in it’s demise, as imo should all right thinking people.

Your disingenuous post does you no service.

Whitewavemark2
The article also said shutting down any speculation that he might be leaving
But telling the truth was never part of your remit, was it?

What a charming person you are.

The usual way to proceed is to ask the poster where she heard the information.

The ill mannered post displayed by yourself gets you know where I am afraid.

NotSpaghetti Sat 17-Jul-21 07:21:55

I would like to see a longer piece then Meryl - do you have a link please?

MerylStreep Sat 17-Jul-21 07:05:26

If anyone had seen the whole piece they would have seen that his black co- presenter was very offended by taking the knee.
She had told him that she wouldn’t do it and nor would any black person she knew.
She had explained to him the diversion it was causing. He wouldn’t accept her opinion and got increasingly agitated until he obviously felt he had to do that to try and convince her.

NotSpaghetti Fri 16-Jul-21 23:15:09

Exactly. As Whitewavemark2 says up above, too low to count. It was after Gutto Harri offended the viewers by kneeling.

www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/gb-news-guto-harrri-suspended-taking-the-knee-row-racism-b946169.html

Here's the info about him "taking the knee"

If you watch it on video, it he seems to be explaining it to be honest. He talks through the reasoning.

welbeck Fri 16-Jul-21 22:53:14

viewing figures, and listening for radio, are measured according to an industry standard.
zero does not mean literally not a single person anywhere.

I watched the 6am show for the first week and found it outspoken against the govt. Thought it was ok. Trying But i had to get back to Susannah with Alastair Campbell and Doctor Hilary and i have a little crush on Adil Ray. I like Kate Garraway, Ranvir Singh, Laura Tobin and Sean Fletcher.
GS says he prefers GMB without Piers It's a lot less shouty!
I don't have a tv to watch later so can't or i would give it a go.
Have to say i can't stand BBC Breakfast these days comes across very snooty to me. At 7am i watch Fireman Sam as youngest GS gets up.
