Here's an interesting question. Would we have this utterly appalling mess in Afghanistan if Trump had been re-elected?

How would he have handled it, better than Biden?

the man who masterminded the bomb wasn' the man who set it off. Even if he had been killed before the bomb explosion that would probably still have gone ahead.

The Taliban are as up to date on hiding data, not putting it online, as any hacker or computer whizz kid, but in this day and age they cannot get by without using the internet, email etc. But thinking and planning is done in the head and the people who are the strategists and tacticians sit a long way back from the operative on the street. As with any organisation, to disrupt its operations, you need to take out those who run it and this is where the drones and electronics come in.

We couldn't stop this bomb but taking this guy out, may well have disrupted plans, just starting, for many more such bomb attacks.

I'm a bit like you Beckett. If they knew who was responsible so quickly after the event, and they had intelligence before it that something was going to happen, why didn't they do something to prevent it?

Maybe I just don't understand that intricacies of it all.

What would your extensive training in this field suggest they do Alegrais1? There will be an enquiry into how each government involved carried this evacuation out; then we will know. Mind you, I expect Johnson to ban ours.
