Three labour MPs plan to defect to the conservatives?

Doesn’t it say everything about the Parliamentary Labour Party that Keir Starmer leads, that when its members plan to defect, they decide to go to the Tories?

No self-respecting Labour Party member would ever consider joining the Conservatives. Not if they ever had true Labour values – because Conservative values are poison to traditional Labour beliefs.

These are people who are said to be despairing at Starmer’s failure to close the Conservatives’ lead in the opinion polls – despite the fact that his, and their own, attacks on Labour’s traditional, socialist, membership are directly responsible for this failure.

Is this still expected. I suppose looking at what the bookies are saying as they tend to know about these thing.

It disappeared of the front pages as quickly as it went on. Interesting.

I know you dislike Starmer trisher, but in all honesty he has more charisma than our leader Mark Drakeford - and he’s highly rated here in Wales.

No. I can imagine the level of thinking that might think so but no, he is not boring.

I think what really matters is honesty, people don’t like being lied to, even if the fact is unpalatable. I don’t want somebody in charge who might be good for a laugh down the pub, I want somebody serious, principled and committed, who is capable of understanding the big picture- I don’t care at all if they have no charisma.

Keir is boring. It's common knowledge. Labour councillors despair. But he won't be here long.

He's not that great a person either. Ask Paul Gambaccini and others about the witch hunt Keir had going on. Paul actually got damages but the damage done to him and other innocents was quite shocking at the time. Yewtree certainly did a lot of good but over 50% of the famous people accused had their cases dropped. Disastrous for their reputations though. Keir managed to bail out just in time.

I can understand his bitterness at what happened to him, and the need to identify a specific person to target, but Keir Starmer was not DPP when Paul Gambaccini's case was considered. All decisions made by the CPS are made in accordance with strict legal tests, which can be challenged in court. Anybody in the DPP role is of course a sitting duck for anybody with a grievance against the justice system.

Rees-Mogg has been boasting that Corbyn was their best ally and allowed Brexit and the Tories huge majority to become reality.

So will someone please explain to me what policies Starmer now stands for? Or how he will appeal to the red wall? Because much as you may castigate them the voters obviously went for Johnson. Now you may claim that was because Corbyn was so disliked but what qualities or policies does Starmer bring to them. Why should they change from Tory to Tory -lite? What happened at the end of the Blair era was people stopped voting. They couldn't see an alternative.
