There’s a real reason for every country to have a shortage of HGV drivers,including the US. Perhaps all those countries could never have anticipated it either.?

Perhaps those countries had the good sense not to compound the issue by creating a hostile environment for the workers they need then wondering why they left and won't come back.

Immigrant workers cant be turned on and off as you please, without respect or any decency. There is a shortage in the EU- so those available will stay there, have much better conditions, no hassle with delays and masses of red tape, and nearer to home - yes, so they can get there for Cristmas this time.

Just a quick reminder that Europe has covid and a shortage of HGV drivers. No empty shelves in supermarkets and no shortage of fuel at the pumps.

Correct but because I find the practice of Halal slaughter barbaric, I would not buy it so chose to serve vegetarian. Incidentally why is it okay for this to be allowed. If I took a dog into my back garden and slit its throat and let it bleed to death, it would surely mean a prison sentence but it’s okay for some cultures to do this and don’t get me started on FGM, barbaric !!
