Just heard on the news he has died how appalling and devastating for his family What are we coming to.

Sky News have announced 'a man has died'. How dreadful.

In January 2000 Andy Pennington, assistant to LibDem MP Nigel Jones was killed by an attacker who came into the constituency office wielding sword. Nigel Jones tried to fend him off and was seriously injured. These attacks are shocking.

I do so hope that this is not a 'political' act and not a bad day for our democracy.

I know through my daughters friend how much work he has put in to get justice for the women who had the mesh implants.

Yes I agree GG, politicians whatever their political persuasion are vulnerable, particularly at their surgeries it seems. Two Labour MPs have been stabbed, one fatally. so awful, I hope this MP recovers.

It’s absolutely appalling- poor man. So much hate around at the moment.

Parliament is united in sending best wishes and prayers as I am sure we all are on GN.

I would have thought his family were informed PDQ.

Dreadful news.

Whatever political party anyone supports, this is a dreadful consequence of being an MP.

They need to be available to their constituents which in turn leaves them vulnerable to attacks like this.

I do hope he recovers, my thoughts are with his family at this worrying time.

I think despite what happened to Jo Cox, we still dont really grasp what a vulnerable position MPs are in, I know this is true for many professions but I think we can overlook this.

That is awful, GG. I hope the poor man is not too badly injured.
