We had a neighbour who regularly abused her husband physically and also her daughter, but not her sons. However, I can't say that she was charismatic. He seemed to be a nice man but I must admit that for a long time we all worried that he was abusing her - not so. It was stereotyping, wasn't it, as it seemed unthinkable that the woman was the abuser.
Penelope Jackson seemed quite emotionally detached during the aftermath of the stabbing. I know shock can cause different reactions but she seemed very matter-of-fact and satisfied about it all.
Any psychiatric reports would be interesting.
