Are we about to trigger Article 16?

By the end of this month? Parliament may well get to vote on it although technically this isn’t essential.

I rarely report. I like all posters to see how nasty people can really be on GN. Not the ones who stand up for themselves. The ones who post unpleasant little messages assuming things about people they don't know and who assume everybody's minds work they way theirs do.

Maudi Mon 08-Nov-21 14:44:29

And no I don't think Article 16 will be triggered unfortunately, a lot of bluster but they never follow through, just empty threats from both sides.

Maudi Mon 08-Nov-21 14:42:28

Or PM someone who will ha ha.

Maudi Mon 08-Nov-21 14:41:52

Report it then ?

Alegrias1 Mon 08-Nov-21 14:40:34

Now. Is that a personal attack?

Maudi Mon 08-Nov-21 14:40:00

Yes on both counts ?

Alegrias1 Mon 08-Nov-21 14:38:43

Oh no! Discovered! I PM'ed someone and so we must have been cooking up sneaky little online putsches!

I mean, if we were conspiring to have a go at people I'd definitely put it on the main thread.

I know you think we're nasty, but do you think we're stupid too?

No, don't answer that. Let me guess.

Kali2 I tried to PM you but it won't go through. flowers

tried to pm you, and get message that you are unable to receive pms???

I rest my case ?

What case? That people PM each other? They've been doing that all the time since I've been on Gnet.

Maudi Mon 08-Nov-21 14:36:54

They protest too much me thinks.

Yes I agree and now we know they pm each other just before a pile on. I can just imagine the pms flying getting their stories and digs straight ?

Gosh Maudi, how do you know that? Please do tell.

Wish I was psychic too...

Me too, Alegrias.

Do they have secret access to everyone's inbox?

I completely agree. There are some horrible people on GN.

I absolutely agree with you, Robin38. There are some vile people on Gnet.

This name calling is why I don't join discussions on GN! Shocking!

It’s getting worse as time goes by.

But pretending to be innocent to make people believe you're something you're not, that would be OK would it?

Not that I'm saying that's going on of course. I'd never do that. That wouldn't be polite.

I know I’m less intellectual than some on here.

I'm trying to find a word for someone who says contentious things but then feigns ignorance so they don't get blamed for it.

Anyone help?

The nearest I can think of is "faux-naïf", but I can't really think of a good old Anglo-Saxon equivalent.

How about the classic mumsnet, 'goadyf*cker'?

Imagine if we tried to annexe Corsica or Sicily!

If Italy signed a Treaty that would separate Sicily from Italy, or if France signed a Treaty that would separate Corsica from France...

a) the would be VERY VERY stupid (which is why they would never do that ...)

and

b) they would then have to stick to it and bear the consequences.

always find it difficult to spell, but 'disingenuous' is that the right one?

We, and family and friends talk about Brexit a lot
It’s a very interesting subject. But I certainly don’t get concerned or worried.

Don't say it Alegrias, don't say it.

Then you haven't understood the situation.

Too late... smile
