I don’t think that Johnson can afford to let Brexit go, because that is all that he has accomplished.

As long as he can keep the traction of spin, lies and fighting, he probably thinks he can keep the support of Brexiters.

He is probably right, but for how long?

For as long as there are still people who continue to think Brexit is a good idea. Rather too long for some of us I think. He has to keep alive the idea that the EU is our enemy.

I’m constantly being accused of not loving my country or not being proud of being British because I was/am anti brexit. But it’s because I do love my country and am proud to be British that breaks my heart to see the damage that Johnson has done to the reputation of the U.K.

I don't believe anything that the media says . I've stopped listening to the news ,deleted daily mail app stopped watching all these so called news shows like good morning Britain etc all biased in every way . No joy in the world anymore its very sad

I know it's very relevant. I'm a news junkie and read from all sorts of sources. Omissions can be just as important as what some media actually report.

I'm confused by this thread, how can BREXIT be over? We have left the EC, so in the sense that it's done and dusted, BREXIT is over, but if you mean that we can just Waltz back into the EC I don't think so!

In my opinion, one of the saddest outcomes of the whole referendum has been a total lack of interest in the reasons WHY the leavers wanted to leave.

I didn’t approve MaizieD and would have been delighted to see those accused in that headline protest their innocence and take the newspaper to court and get reparations for the damage to their reputations...

You’ve rather missed the point. The DM invited them to sue but they didn’t because they were guilty. It was an excellent move by the DM who were instrumental in bringing them to justice. Pity they didn’t do the same for the murderers of Kriss Donald. Although thankfully they are serving life and I hope it is life too.

Lots of people read the Daily Mail so don't be so dismissive of your fellow human beings. Some of us read the Mail amongst lots of other things.

kittylester I don't think ladyleftfieldlover is being dismissive of her "fellow human beings" - just wanting people to be aware that the "Daily Mail" is a right wing paper, who supported fascism.

It's relevant more today than ever - as fascism, as George Orwell observed, creeps in with a happy, populist face, and pretends to be your friend. The present Government are hell bent on driving this country back to the age of deference - around the time of the Titanic disaster would suit them I think.

The list of ever mounting shortages, price hikes, or disappearing workers and the infantile posturing of the unelected bureaucrat "Lord Frost" surely underlines the fact that we're still suffering from its initial impact.

They signed a deal, a contract, and now they've read it, they appear to have worked out that because they didn't have an implementation plan as a 3rd country trading with the EU it's all gone belly up - slowly!

Their approach seems to have been take back control of borders that they never lost, fly a flag, and do a deal with one of the most environmentally unconscious countries (Australia) on the planet. Truly the work of a spiv.
