Flooding and landslides; our poor province

I’ve heard and yes she’s fine. But my goodness what a year! The rain levels sound similar to what Germany experienced earlier in the year.

Everyone is our town is fine, the heavy rain and flooding was in the south.

WWM2, your friend should be fine. My daughter lives in a suburb of Victoria, and they did not get hit as hard. They had power outages because of the wind, with trees falling on powerlines.

It may be months before they can repair some of the major highways. It is an awful situation that shows the power of mother nature.

It sounds awful. I was so sorry to hear of the problems in BC. I have such happy memories of Vancouver and Squamish. Hope your families are all OK and the clean up and rebuild proceeds rapidly.

Global warming - all these unusual weather patterns, world wide, and it will get worse.

I live in the state that borders BC and have been hearing about the troubles there. I hope we can help down here in anyway we can. We won't let you starve.

We were also part of that horrid heatwave and had the worst drought ever recorded. Now we've had more rain than we've ever seen before. We get only 9" of rain a year here so to hear rain all night long and into the next day is weird.
