The tragic deaths of young migrants locked in a lorry about two years ago was shocking, but it seems that the tragedies are now continuing at sea.

Surely there must be a way to beat the people smugglers before more deaths occur?

Don’t forget that other favourite trick which is to claim, often at the eleventh hour to be gay, and then to bleat that they would be persecuted should they be sent back to their own country.

By the way, it’s not just the odd one or two who have decided it might help their appeal if they
‘converted to Christianity’. Vicars have reported a large number stating they wish to convert.

There should only be one way to gain asylum here, and that is the authorised method of application already in place.

Apparently It took police/Home office one day to discover that the Liverpool bomber was from Iraq not Syria as he claimed for seven years.

There is no excuse for them not knowing this at the time of his original claim.

He had an Iraqi father and a Syrian mother.

There have already been terrible events, which haven't put people off.

I agree Urmstongran it beggars belief doesn't it and it was only the quick thinking of the taxi driver that saved women and children being blown up, killed and maimed and some make excuses for them.

And why so desperate to leave France, a perfectly safe country? That's not desperation, it's a lot of things but desperate isn't one of them.

If the law says that they can appeal more than once then that is what they will do, if their lawyers think they have a case to appeal

Sadly it’s on us, as taxpayers. These applicants have no money to pay for legal assistance.

Legal aid it is then. Send the bill to the taxpayer there’s a good chap.
