I am desperately sorry for the thousands still without electricity after Storm Arwen, especially those in care homes where the staff have battled night and day to keep their residents warm and fed.
But reading all the depressing news in today’s paper when I got to the Blower cartoon it just about summed up my own feelings.

Mr J had to spend the night in a pub, The Ponderosa, top of the Glenshane pass NI years ago. Said it was great fun.

I read that story yesterday. Was the best news in press all day. I once went to a wedding in Yorkshire in January snow, in what was called the highest church in England but I can't remember the name of the village. Sounds fun for them.

what made me laugh was one member of the oasis tribute band left days ago as he needed dialysis but the rest are apparently still snowed in grin

Talk about being in the right place at the right time. Cheers!

I wouldn’t have minded being stuck in the pub but I wouldn’t have wanted to be one of the passengers stuck in the train for 17 hours at Huntly in Aberdeenshire. The storm had caused disruptions on the track. Fortunately the local Asda kindly donated food and drink to the passengers.
