The leader has become a liability

Anyone noticed that Johnson’s support has begun to wan at PMQs?

At one stage Tory MPs would shout support to the rafters every chance they got, but now many don’t bother turning up and the shouts of support seem forced and hollow.

Johnson isn’t delivering, and they are watching an opposition leader who is becoming more confident by the week, whose effortless delivery of attacking questions that hit home every time particularly now that he has a shadow cabinet he wants with the support he will get.

The wheels are looking decidedly wobbly. Johnson’s ineptitude, lies and failure to deliver policy without seemingly constant u-turns is wearing thin.

His time is coming.

Is he there?

The foreign secretary, Boris Johnson, will spend Christmas at Chevening after winning a battle to take sole charge of the 115-room grace and favour mansion in Kent.

Hopefully it will all come out soon ...

Bercow, they will say, and yes, spot on he is

I did see a carton about him being on holiday but didn’t understand what it meant.

Thanks

When asked where he has been for the last ten days he laughed and said, "I have been in this country".

Coastpath

I thought the PM gave a very strange answer when asked where he had been for the last 10 days.

What did he say, coastpath?

(I've been doing other things all day, just catching up now)

Oh well if you're all happy with a lying, cheating. thieving lump of lard .and I have missed out some of his assets, in case you wondered where the rest of the list went ,then it says as much about YOU as it does about him.
We however haven't voted for a Tory majority since 1955 and now that we've seen this horror show it will be the next century... if ever ... before it happens again ."Becoming a liability ? Looks like he has never been anything else !

A sign of the times- I posted the above last evening- and not a single person has come to say I was talking nonsense and Johnson will still be PM well into 2022 and next Elections.

Mr.Johnson will remain PM until such time as enough Conservative MPs send in their letter of no confidence to the 1922 committee.

If the U.K. appears to be coping/dealing with the Omicron numbers/hospitalisations I am not sure that they will be rushing to put the letters in. The middle of a pandemic is not an ideal time for a leadership challenge.

So, how long will it take when normal 'business' returns in the NY? How quick will it be?

Boris Johnson

The Daily Telegraph summed up the future of Boris Johnson on December 11th by headlining with a piece that stated: “The collapse of trust can be traced to the fatal flaws in Boris Johnson’s personality. The latest crisis in No 10 is no fleeting embarrassment, but a game-changer that has stripped the PM of any remaining credibility.”
“Johnson has always been unfit for high political office, as incompetent as he is dishonest. Beyond Brexit – an exercise in self-harm set to make the UK at once poorer, less secure in its own union of nations, and weaker abroad – he has nothing to say.”

There was a cobra meeting today, probably one of the most important meetings as we face what’s ahead and the decisions to be made.

Johnson did not attend

The circumstances of a political assasination are not the normal circumstances of a by-election.

Obviously David Amess will be replaced by another Tory.

No opposition party wants to profit from murder.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 17-Dec-21 15:56:26

So can we safely assume that it will be a Tory win????

1 vote will do it and I assume the candidate will vote for him/herself

Not sure anything will happen before the next by-election in Southend (the late David Amess’s constituency) if the Conservatives lose that one I think it will be curtains for Mr.Johnson.

I read somewhere that the main parties weren't putting up candidates in Southend, in recognition of David Amess.

I wonder if she will come across as having the time to devote to constituents that David Ames’s did?

It’s a big ask, as David started out as a Basildon MP 30 odd years ago before moving to Southend.

I had the pleasure of meeting him many times, he was a true gentleman, family man along with caring for his constituents (whether they voted for him or not)

I thought no other party was going to contest it?

I think I heard that, but honestly not 100% sure.

Anna Firth the Conservative candidate is a councillor in Sevenoaks, a barrister and has set up a foundation to help educate children who have fallen down the Covid-19 rabbit hole

I do not know anything else about her (will
Google later).

MayBee70 Fri 17-Dec-21 15:08:04

I can’t see them losing that one. Then again it might be the sort of constituency where people voted for the man rather than their political allegiances and may revert back.

So, will it happen very fast- as I predicted ?

Whitewavemark2 Fri 17-Dec-21 07:37:00

Told you so?????
