Boris and Carrie have just announced the birth of a daughter. No further news yet.

CoolCoco

But its not just any baby being born is it otherwise we wouldn't be talking about it.So it is political - father politician, mother would be politician or influencer. I wonder if they'll keep a copy of the daily papers on the day she was born?

Yes, it is just a new little life brought into the world.
She didn't choose her parents.

Actually, I think I'll choose Mabel.

A new baby! Oh that is good news. A sister for Wilfred, a pigeon pair. I'm guessing Anna for baby Johnson, but I expect I'm wrong! Separating News from Politics? Oh that will be good - looking forward to it already.

Well said Chestnut.
My vote is for Rosie or Felicity. If I’d had a daughter I wanted to call her Felicity.

Sophia ? I'm thinking Greek/ Turkish where Boris's roots are.

Riverwalk I assume all posters have previously welcomed lovely babies born to mothers on benefits and those in poorer countries, and not expressed worry about the world's population.
Spot on Riverwalk. This would have been a lovely thread welcoming a little girl into the world, but the usual suspects have hi-jacked it to bash Boris, as if they don't have enough threads for that purpose. Some of these threads are like a barnyard full of clucking hens who hate Boris.

Carol. You never hear of small Carols nowadays.

Kali2 Thu 09-Dec-21 14:47:59

Comes from Charlotte, definite French ring to it.

Josianne Thu 09-Dec-21 14:45:48

Lottie ... after Boris' mum who died recently. Has a Germanic ring to it.

I was also thinking of Holly but the singer of Frankie Goes to Hollywood is Holly Johnson so maybe not!

Some BRILLIANT news to share‼️

I reported my own post to GNHQ and asked whether they would consider separating the News threads from the Politics ones and Lily has just replied to say they are going to do so.

I’m really pleased! I think many of us will be too. ?

Thank you GNHQ!

Now can you get the Games put as a separate tab at the top? This is a discussion forum and Games are entirely something else. They have a tab for Menopause and also Coronavirus, why not Games? Hope you can work your magic there ?

No apostrophe, thank you, autocorrect

Calistemon Thu 09-Dec-21 14:41:18

Josianne

Ethel goes well with Wilf.

My Mum's siblings grin

Baggs Thu 09-Dec-21 14:40:37

It does! grin

Josianne Thu 09-Dec-21 14:39:23

Ethel goes well with Wilf.

Baggs Thu 09-Dec-21 14:39:18

Oh! and Heidi the goose.

Baggs Thu 09-Dec-21 14:38:37

We called our first three hens Saffie (Saffron; she had yellow legs), Grisel, and Violet so I'm chucking them into the hat. Then there was Morag, Florence and Goldie.

Calistemon Thu 09-Dec-21 14:33:34

Gertrude as a second choice.
Jemima

It's fallen out of favour but is it time for a comeback?

Calistemon Thu 09-Dec-21 14:31:38

I suggested Clementine first so bags I Clementine (Clemmie for short).

Baggs Thu 09-Dec-21 14:29:57

I was thinking suggestions and bets'd be fun.

Baggs Thu 09-Dec-21 14:29:24

WWM2, I don't think you can lose respect for a person you never respected in the first place ?

Calistemon Thu 09-Dec-21 14:28:59

Clementine it is then.
Shall we tell them? Or just take bets?

Baggs Thu 09-Dec-21 14:28:13

Gwyneth

Some of the comments on here regarding the birth of a new baby (whoever it’s parents) are appalling and some posters really should be ashamed. They certainly have revealed their true colours in the worst possible way on this thread.

Yep. Well said, Gwyneth.

Baggs Thu 09-Dec-21 14:27:33

Clemmie is nice.

There's Clementine Churchill and Clementine Owen (the Yorkshire Shepherdess's eighth child). smile
