Probably sounds more exciting than it will be.

Never mind his ruddy hair that’s going to be a hell of a push with the booster program

Hear, hear

Whitewavemark2 Sun 12-Dec-21 20:12:47

This could and should have been done by the Health Minister.

Johnson’s job is to announce restrictions etc .

But not a word of apology! Not one.

He was driving home a serious message. Get vaccinated, get your booster. That was his message. Anything else in that statement off message dilutes the focus: vaccinations.

MayBee70 Sun 12-Dec-21 20:14:30

It still takes at least 7 days for the booster to work. And most people in an enclosed space with someone with Omicron will most likely catch it. We needed to do more than this but he’s worried about his back benchers.

Dr. Fauci---USA says there's no necessity for a booster for Omicron if you've had two vaccinations.
Who do you believe ?

That's not what he said at all.

Fauci is also encouraging Americans to get their booster.

Jaberwok Sun 12-Dec-21 20:15:40

Oh for goodness sake, this is clearly a very serious situation so who cares about his hair or apologies, and the comment about 'ickle baby' was pathetic beyond belief.

Not really the time this was a far more important message apologies will not save people from Omicron

Yes exactly that. It’s the ones who are going to vote against him regarding the latest restrictions.

I will lay bets that he won’t introduce restrictions before Christmas.

It’s fair to say that most of the vulnerable have already had the booster my son who is in his mid 30s has his booked for Saturday
If we have had the booster we are already in a much safer place.
They are trying to avoid going further with all the untold damage this can cause

rosie1959 Sun 12-Dec-21 20:22:52

Whoops that was a reply to MayBee must be going cross eyed

Josianne Sun 12-Dec-21 20:22:57

My children and spouses in their 30s are signing up, so from me it's a thank you Boris.

Oh I didn’t realise that he’s administering the vaccine.

Busy man

Totally disagree. It is very widely agreed that the most important issue re the many Parties at No 10, and the denials, will cause, for a large proportion of the population, means that they say 'S*d this for a stupid game of soldiers- I shall totally ignore his advice, and will do as I please'. Plenty of evidence right here, even among nice, gentle and well-behaved Grannies!

And THAT is a disaster in the making.

Josianne Sun 12-Dec-21 20:33:43

Well I guess the proof will be in the daily figures Kali. And my kids are feisty, strong and sometimes badly behaved young people.

Take your point but if he had added an apology to this message what would people be talking about ? His apology or the booster.

In your opinion.

Kandinsky Sun 12-Dec-21 20:37:34

I really don’t think people will risk their own health by not getting vaccinated just because a few politicians had a Christmas party a year ago.

Jaberwok Sun 12-Dec-21 20:37:41

But totally predictable. I too thank Boris, and our local surgery for organising and participating in our full vaccinations, and frankly don't give a toss about Xmas parties that might or might not have taken place 12 months ago or who did or did not pay for the refurbishment of the Downing Street flat 18 months ago.

25Avalon Sun 12-Dec-21 20:38:17

Keir Starmer is backing him. When will people realise this is a National emergency?

EllanVannin Sun 12-Dec-21 20:43:51

Do you think that if BJ hadn't blotted his copy book he'd have called for a lockdown ? Obviously he can't now because of what he did.

The way I see it is that he's stressing/ pushing for the booster because of this, knowing that heaps of people will be literally in danger of falling seriously ill during the Christmas period.

He's putting people's lives in danger----I hope not, but it looks that way.

We're not in the position where we need a blooming lockdown.

Stop stirring.
