I've just tried to send for a pack of LFTs via the government web site.

There are none available.

(I'd screenshot the page but I've never got the hang of screenshotting...)

Where does this leave us all?

I wish I had had the foresight to stock up,I could have emulated the Wise Men and it would have solved the Christmas pressie problem
Gift-wrapped boxes of LFTs all round!

None available at 7am apparently.

MayBeMaw Tue 14-Dec-21 06:56:10

I went online around 6 and got one.
There is always this alternative…

I was just about to say the very thing, Juno56. Have successfully ordered one pack. I test about 3 times a week - I'm going among people a lot more at the minute as I prepare to move house next month ?.

Juno56 Tue 14-Dec-21 06:31:50

I too was unable to order a pack online yesterday but successfully did so this morning so it's worth trying again today if you have had problems OP. My husband and I test 2/3 times a week so I order one pack a week and keep one pack in reserve. I don't consider that "stockpiling".

I looked yesterday on the NHS website and got the ‘None Available’ message.
I’ve just signed in again and successfully ordered a box.
(I’ll have two boxes then, which will be more than enough for us)

Scribbles

I think I have a couple of LFTs left and thought I should maybe get some more. As others have said, nowt available on gov uk so I put in my home postcode to search for a pharmacy where I might collect some.
The result? "We can't find any results within 30 miles of your location".

No, I don't live somewhere up a lonely mountain but on the edge of a midlands city.
?

I got that 'nothing within 30 miles' message when I only put in the first part of my postcode. When I entered all of it there were 3 local collection points available, (a couple of miles away).

I'm trotting up there tomorrow morning clutching my code... grin

MissAdventure Mon 13-Dec-21 22:51:57

Never mind.
I'll keep! (I hope)

Greenfinch Mon 13-Dec-21 22:51:46

Same here. Not within 30 miles.Reading is 10 miles away . I can't believe that there is nowhere there.

Forsythia Mon 13-Dec-21 22:49:14

I’m sorry to hear that.

MissAdventure Mon 13-Dec-21 22:48:02

I've tried that option, but nope.
Not within 30 miles.

Forsythia Mon 13-Dec-21 22:43:23

I’ve ordered mine to collect tomorrow at our local chemist.

MissAdventure Mon 13-Dec-21 21:50:44

Perhaps it'll work if I keep trying.
I usually have them supplied by work, so have never had this problem.

I'll keep having a look though.

MissAdventure

Nowhere within 30 miles of here is the message at the moment.

How strange. I managed to put in an order just under an hour ago, then my son did the same.
No guarantee that they will come any time soon though, I suppose, though I got the usual confirmation message saying they should come within two days.

MissAdventure Mon 13-Dec-21 21:36:08

Nowhere within 30 miles of here is the message at the moment.

Oldnproud Mon 13-Dec-21 21:25:20

They seem to be available online again now.

Greenfinch Mon 13-Dec-21 21:25:07

How very odd. I have just tried and the message came up that there were none available.

paddyann54 Mon 13-Dec-21 21:23:52

we got two packs this morning ,the asssistant said no shortage here .

MissAdventure Mon 13-Dec-21 21:19:33

Now we'll all try and order, and all be in a queue. grin

LadyStardust Mon 13-Dec-21 21:14:29

I've just ordered some on the NHS website no problem. smile

rosie1959 Mon 13-Dec-21 17:56:04

According to several news reports we have plenty of lateral flow tests it was just that so many were ordered they can only do so many orders a day

JaneJudge Mon 13-Dec-21 17:29:17

maddyone

Rosalyn I can’t speak for others but I need a regular supply so that I can visit my elderly mother in her care home. Not stockpiling, but necessary.

yes, there will be lots of us! smile

TillyTrotter Mon 13-Dec-21 17:29:09

The advice is to test before you go and meet people, and as Christmas traditions are to meet up with family and friends at Christmastime it will be prudent to have more than one box of 7 tests.

JaneJudge Mon 13-Dec-21 17:28:34

Some of us have needed to test several times a week, even every single day throughout. You can only order one pack of 7 every other day I think? So you cannot really stockpile unless you are logging in every other day to order some. I think everyone who most probably hasn't been testing or has not needed to previously, has ordered one box via the nhs website over the weekend or after Mr Johnson addressed the nation.
