Good move Boris! That's handed the poisoned chalice to another potential challenger.
How did you vote and why today
Apparently he disillusioned.
Oh well.

BREAKING news: Liz Truss taking over from Lord Frost.
Jury is out.
CoolCoco
Funny how the year before Brexit we had 8,000 migrants crossing the channel in small boats, last year it was 20,000+, this year 30,000+, wonder if Brexit voters see the link? Or is that what they voted for?
My first thought would have to be ‘what is so awful about France that they cannot stay there to make a life!’ CoolCoco.
Thank you for your interest Parsley3. This is more how discourse should be in my opinion!
You are right. I’m gutted.
As to who will take over I’ve no idea. ?
I hope for someone strong and informed. Obviously the Remainers on here would hope for a weak sap as to’bring us ever closer’ to the EU.
Time will tell I suppose Parsley3.
Do you have a view yourself?
The stupidest thing I've ever heard said in the last five and a half years is the leave voters slogan - "WE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT WE WERE VOTING FOR"

We could refuse to have it, though, as a protest. That’d’show’im…
Well, we can’t because we depend on Putin for our energy, don’t we?
Well we don't exactly want to go all guns blazing to the Ukraine border Whitewavemark2, do we ?
EllanVannin
Can I remind Dickens of January next year is when Putin has decided to round-up the Ukraine ?
Do we, amongst the latest debacles have a competent defence secretary ? I hope so !
This should be on the minds of politicians who wish to keep Europe, Western Europe and the US, on side.
Oh god there is that as well!

However, I am truly disturbed by the number of people, including on GN who are so set on their beloved Brexit that they will throw all employee protections, health and safety regulations, minimum wage, fair disability benefits etc to the bonfire.
To be fair, GillT57, I don't think Ug and her mates bothered to follow the links in my post that tell you exactly what the ERG Brexiters want. Otherwise I wouldn't have got such a ridiculous reaction.
I don't think MOnica bothered to read it either.
If they'd read it I would hope that they don't actually support resorting to Victorian employment conditions and privatisation of the NHS.
As I recall they voted for £350million a week to the NHS, not selling it to the Yanks...
Supply side policies. Just look them up and remember them.

Not at all Alegrias1 the barbed comments towards posters who have differing views seem to be getting more frequent.
I am all for healthy debate but I do not like personal insults alluding to voters intelligence . In my opinion they are unnecessary and do not further the discussions.
Still none the wiser GG13
But I do find myself wondering about the reasoning powers of people who thought Brexit was a good idea and I'll not be changing that position any time soon. ?♀️
People are entitled to their own opinions of course, but if I'm in a discussion with someone who tells me that they know that day is night, then I'm entitled to wonder about their intelligence.
C'est la vie.

It is as plain as the nose on the Pope's face that the reason Frost has quit is because he doesn't want to be around when reality hits in January, perhaps he has finally got around to reading the details. He is a chancer, a pal of Johnson, got bribed by a seat in The Lords, he is a turncoat, having been a strong advocate of remain, so was I suppose, the perfect candidate.
However, I am truly disturbed by the number of people, including on GN who are so set on their beloved Brexit that they will throw all employee protections, health and safety regulations, minimum wage, fair disability benefits etc to the bonfire. If I was younger I would be even more furious that this smug, self satisfied generation which enjoyed protection, safety, free university education are now intent on depriving the next generation of the same. Or, do these slashes in state protection etc just intended for 'the others', and not your own children and grandchildren?
Good post

I cannot quote as I can’t remember when it occurred, but it was on GN many moons ago when we were told by some that we needed to move on from the idea of Remainers and Leavers.
I assume you’re not telling us to shut up about it?
Heaven forfend, as James Bond once said.
Some people are such snowflakes ….
No doubt they are happy that flower growers in the U.K. are having to leave their flowers to rot - no one to pick them- so sales from the Netherlands are up ( but more expensive) . Just what they voted for - why aren’t we allowed to criticise such madness?

alegrias I expect gg13 is talking about the phrase “your ilk” there is nothing anyone has said otherwise that wouldn’t be said in a good face to face debate.
I think a good way to gradually get rid of the right wing loons in the government is to make them Brexit minister - one by one.
It soon sees them off?

Why so much nastiness to folks I assume you do not know in real life?
Would you have these conversations face-to-face, with the same insults?
Not sure who you are addressing GG13, but there's nothing I've posted here that I wouldn't say to anybody in real life.
Now I expect someone will come along and tell me how I should let go of my anger, or that I'm not a nice person, or something like that.
“In 2017 a Tory minister told The Times, "We are in a bind. If we cancel Brexit we destroy ourselves, and if we go ahead we destroy the country"
5 years later, they've done both.”

monica who are the Ilk?
A very unpleasant choice of phrase.
Not a very GN phrase I would have thought?
