Piers Corbyn Arrested

Apparently he told an anti-vax mob to hammer MP’s and burn down their offices. If this is the truth and he did say these things, he deserves to go to prison as he’s a danger.

After the deaths of Jo Cox and David Ames’s, it’s shocking that the, supposedly intelligent, brother of the former leader of the Opposition could be so irresponsible and reckless.

... I've just read a comment on Facebook - the woman called him a "Legend" and thanked him for his 'support'.

I thought at first it was sarcasm / irony - but looked at her profile. It wasn't.

I don't know if she's seen the video of him and his rag-tag-and-bobtail bunch of failed 'rappers' on the tube rapping about farting in trousers, but I posted it to her in response - so she could take a good look at her "legend" in action.

... there's been no response...

Well, it wasn’t me, if that's what your suggesting. He not a "Legend" Nor are all lefties violent. Wasn’t Hitler from the right? Won’t be commenting or reading further.

I mean You’re before anyone comments on my grammar

Don't know if you will or won't read this but, no, I wasn't suggesting it was you!

Why on earth would you even think that?

It was just some random woman on FB whose name I can't even remember.

... and if you hadn't corrected your grammar I wouldn't have even noticed... let alone comment on it.

Sorry I wasn’t blaming you for the grammar thing I know it wasnt you, that was general comment before anyone did.( It really hurts. I have a dregree but I have learning difficulities I dont see my mistakes). I got anxious while posting and it came out wrong sorry.I think I should just leave again

Of course P Corbyn should be charged with inciting violence, etc., and in my opinion he's a nutter. Makes me wonder about other members of the family. Thank God JC never became PM. If Boris can make such a mess just imagine that alternative with Brexit and the pandemic. Would we ever have got a vaccine roll out underway?

I've a relative who behaves similarly to PC - though he doesn't advocate violence. He just rants, and no-one is ever quite sure what he's on about

The rest of the family are not like him - and have little to do with him.

So your comment about the "rest of the family" is uncalled for IMO. Once a child reaches adulthood, they go their own way.

And plenty of families have odd-balls among their members. From all levels of society.

There are criminals and people who make ill-considered remarks in public in all walks of life and of every politcal and religious observance that the world has ever heard of.

We are surely all old enough to remember hearing Enoch Powell and Ian Paisley to name two.

Could we please try to discuss topics without descending to the level of insults used by children in a school-yard when we disagree with each other?

Please don't leave because of dyslexia or another learning difficulty. It is very easy to pick holes in someone's grammar when you doesn't have those difficulties yourself. You shouldn't be made to feel anxious when you post, and people should think twice before drawing attention to 'mistakes', as doing so is discriminatory, unless the mistakes confuse what you are saying, in which case a simple request for clarification should suffice.

I think that most of the people who voted for Brexit weren't much interested in the EU before the referendum campaign, had very little idea of how the EU actually 'worked' and were wide open to be stirred up by demagoguery.Having registered their vote and voted for Johnson, who has 'got Brexit done', they have lapsed into their usual state of indifference and can be easily persuaded that all the UK'ss woes are a result of covid. I suspect that we could slide back into the Single market without a squeak from most of them.

Judgmental, much?

Precisely! No wonder no one in their right minds votes for the bigoted racist socialists who insist on making derogatory comments about others.

Sounds as if Piers Corbyn should be sectioned for everybody’s safety.

Good God!

What was bigoted or racist about my comment? Decades of polling shows that most of the UK population was indifferent to the EU pre 2016.

No, don't leave.

If anyone picks you up on your grammar or spelling - they are showing themselves up, not you.

Piers Corbyn is an extremist and not typical of most lefties.
pinkjj27
I agree but I'm not quite sure what he is, he seems more intent on anarchy, rabble rousing and attention-seeking to me and now he thinks he's found a cause.

If it wasn't the virus he may have found another one.

Really?

Did you know Mr and Mrs Corbyn Senior personally? How do you know what kind of parents they were?

Your post is quite offensive.

leeds22 Mon 20-Dec-21 15:39:01

Hurrah, I hope they lock him up for a few years.

Oh such kindness and tolerance to Kadinsky on this thread so heartening to see.
Just to let you know this statement is dripping with irony!
In fact l am unsubscribing to gransnet. Not sure your back biting and general nastiness was quite what l was expecting on here.

That’s fine, Kandinsky made a comment stating lefties are violent. BUt I guess you think that was Ok.

Oh I forgot you’re flouncing ……
Merry Christmas.

Incitement should be treated far more seriously than it is at present. This idiot of a man deserves to have the book thrown at him as there will be people who think that it is the right thing to do because he is a 'known' person. How easy it is to stir up bigoted, mindless hatred in a certain element, and then watch from the sidelines while it all happens. Hate preachers are a classic example - for how long did the government allow Chouhdry et al who preached the vilest hatred to encourge the disaffected and deranged to bomb and destroy? Incitement should be a serious criminal offence.

Actually it is both ignorant and offensive. There are a lot of new and somewhat extreme posters on this thread, I don't know why some are getting so worked up, we all agree that Piers Corbyn is trouble and was rightly arrested. All the other stuff about his brother, his parents is irrelevant and spiteful.

Maremia Mon 20-Dec-21 16:40:24

Sorry folks, late as usual to the party. Haven't read all the posts, but Mummer, those 'idiot parents' you mentioned, was that the Johnsons you were talking about?

Tanjamaltija Mon 20-Dec-21 16:54:15

Maybe politics and religion should be banned from these posts. Most members do not seem mature enough to accept that we a!l hold different views. Otherwise some of the more general topics make interesting reading.

Nannina Mon 20-Dec-21 17:14:18

I think I could be described by some as a leftie but I abhor violence of any kind. I’ve no time for Piers Corbin and his ilk and feel he should be investigated for incitement to violence. Odd that a ‘rightie’ like Mr Trump and ‘leftie’ Mr Corbin resort to the same means when things don’t go their way

Doodledog Mon 20-Dec-21 17:17:40

There's not much point in a discussion board where we can't disagree with one another, though.

Every now and then there is an OTT post, but we are all adults, and can deal with it as it happens. When things get personal, other posters can step in; but that doesn't happen often, even though there are those who take any sort of disagreement as a personal attack.
