Yes still waiting for the list of things Corbyn got away with…..
I am not a messy person but...
Happy Birthday - 100 years on Earth
I really don’t want to turn this into a slanging match!
Whatever your politics I think we can all agree Boris and his cohorts have behaved in a despicable manner.
If he is still in power by the end of the month then I don’t think I will ever vote again.
He really is like Teflon…nothing sticks.
Dominic Cummings and others I suspect are gunning for him but will they succeed?
????????
Yes still waiting for the list of things Corbyn got away with…..
There's a whole thread going on about not correcting people's spelling or grammar.
But I can't believe anybody is making rational arguments when they think that covid can be asymptotic.
HolySox said "This a consequence of 10 years of austerity, that being a consequence of the financial crisis under Labour."
I think they meant the international financial crisis caused by the deregulation of the banking system, not Labour.
Allsorts said Look what Corbin got away with! I don't understand, what did Corbyn get away with?
What a mess

*They maybe didn’t keep themselves as safe, but that’s up to them*
After the party they all went home, presumably on public transport to their families potentially spreading the virus into the community. The next day they were off to work again to potentially infect colleagues who'd not broken the rules. How is that keeping us safe?
He lied.
He broke the rules. His own rules.
He'd already had Covid and nearly died. He'd had medical staff risk their lives tending him 24 hours a day and then just over a month later he and his wife were drinking at a party, risking catching it again or passing it on to others putting more NHS staff at risk.
Someone would have had to try very hard to do worse.
They all work together, so there was always a risk of catching it and passing it on, the same as any other groups of people who’ve had to work for our benefit. Emergency services, shops etc.
They wouldn’t have caught anything in the garden, and spread it that same day. Most likely not the next day either.
I’m more concerned about a YouTube video we saw, where a doctor who looks after the elderly, has refused the vaccines, stating her reasons as, she’s already had covid and doesn’t think it’s a high enough risk for her to be worried. Forgetting the fact she could have asymptotic covid and pass it to everyone, including vulnerable patients. She is faced with losing her job in April.
I find this much more worrying, that we could be treated by unvaccinated NHS staff, than a few people having drinks outside in the garden, which I’m sure is massive, with the bonus of fresh air.
I agree it was the wrong thing to do, but still think we’re making it bigger than it needs to be.
allsorts you mean you prefer a lying incompetent, who cheats on everything, and everyone, that can’t be trusted - ever.
Blimey!
Starmer ? A QC , not an idea in his head ?
What did Corbyn “get away with “? (Not that I was a particular fan)
Keir, pleasant but no leader, not an idea in his head, his deputy Angela is such an embarrassment, loud mouthed and unpleasant. They have no policies. Someone has an awful lot of time on their hands to be finding everything to attack Conservatives on. It’s probably their job the more dirt they find. Who has the most to gain from it? We don’t know what Labour got up to. Look what Corbin got away with! I don’t agree with what they did, I live alone and saw no one, kept to the rules, it was very lonely, I still prefer him to the alternative until I see anyone I think up to being a leader.

The vaccine most of us had was invented and created in Germany. By Turkish immigrants.

Oh he is he is.
He did not do as well as anyone else. He delayed lockdown too long he didn’t borders or stop large sporting events, He was just lucky the scientists sorted a vaccine
With hindsight perhaps put us in lockdown earlier ... at best maybe a week. Would have had minimal impact on first wave. Main problem was NHS needing to send elderly into care homes to fred up beds due to lack of space in hospitals / convalencse provision. This a consequence of 10 years of austerity, that being a consequence of the financial crisis under Labour.
"Lucky the scientists sorted a vaccine". Do you not mean fortunate for us the current government, under Boris, invested heavily to vaccine development ensuring their development with the UK being the first country to implement them.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t want a Conservative government. I also voted to get us out of Europe. Now they can go with pleasure.
I just think anyone would have struggled with this pandemic. The whole world is struggling, and no one can blame Boris for that.....can they?
I've never thought much of Douglas Ross but he has his good days.
Scottish Conservative leader calls for Boris Johnson to quit.

The Prime Minister wasn’t thinking of others the week he visited a hospital without a mask, shook hands with all and sundry when we knew we had a rampant pandemic in our midst, and contracted Covid himself - taking up a bed in intensive care.
“Protect our Nhs” he kept repeating on his daily briefings. Except he didn’t.
How can we believe in a leader like him?

I agree he should have closed borders straight away, but to hear people’s rants about him on here, you’d expect the whole world to be clear of covid except us in the U.K.,
Then it would make sense. What were the numbers of new infections in the States yesterday? 1.4 million wasn’t it?
I so, so hope so.

Time wasting trivia ?
What about imposing draconian measures on everyone else, then doing exactly what you want. People were fined for much smaller breachesWhy don’t you see it as they were keeping us all safe, and I thank them for that. They maybe didn’t keep themselves as safe, but that’s up to them. As Holysox said, there are bigger things to worry about. This is just a distraction to get rid of Boris, the man who got us out of Europe, and in my opinion, has done as well as anyone else would have during covid. There wasn’t a manual!
Many politicians are incompetent liars. Boris is no worse than anyone else.
OH YES HE IS
No manual - there were very strict rules, that THEY made themselves. That the Queen and all of us followed, some with massive sacrifices- including not being with loved ones as they died alone.
Many politicians are incompetent liars. Boris is no worse than anyone else.
Wow! Did you have a straight face when you typed that? I honestly don't believe you did.

I’m appalled that no Conservative MPs, never mind Cabinet members, have had the guts to stick their heads above the parapet and say what everyone is thinking. Instead we keep getting poor suckers wheeled out to defend the indefensible. The mantra of “wait for the outcome of the investigation” is just playing for time in the hope that everyone will have stopped being outraged by then. I can only hope Johnson is wrong and the whole lot of them get what they deserve - a P45.

'We may as well stick with what we have'
Why? Defeatist? Don't care? See no other option? I see it very differently. I can't imagine how he can continue now, I really can't. He should (just for once in his life) do the honourable thing - and resign!
Thank you for posting your opinion.
Why both parties?
When I saw the title of this thread I intended to post an opinion. Not now as so many posts seem so extreme. We have to live and work with the politicians we currently have, most of whom have very little to recommend them. I’m referring here to both major parties. We may as well stick with what we have for the time being. As for Dominic Cummings he’s the biggest hypocrite of them all.

So called European Research Group. Nothing to do with 'research' though, but extreme free market policies and ideologies. Extreme 'right' in a different way.

Thank you. I’ll do a bit more research now. Never heard the term before.
You are welcome.
