The High Court has ruled that the Government’s operation of a fast track V.I.P. lane for the awarding of lucrative PPE contracts to those with political connections was unlawful.

Will there be any consequences?

Probably not.

Doubt it

There was a time when a headline like that would have been a very startling thing to see. We have sunk so low that now I find that my immediate reaction is along the lines of "So what's new?", which is not what anyone living in a democracy should be thinking. Is it just me or are others pretty disenchanted too?

paddyann54, shocking, isn't it? 'Left in the past'???? Don't they realise how many people are hopping mad about so many things, including this? (Maybe not, if they're so out of touch with normal life?)

A multi-purpose headline!
Equally applicable to “works” parties at Christmas or in the garden at No 10.
Not to mention ministers repairing to their second homes (Kendrick) or advisers driving the length of England to “test their eyesight” ????

I lived in an Eastern block country where corruption was a national sport.
We would rant at our neighbours to stand up and do something about it. They would laugh at us.
Now I know how they felt.
One story that always made us laugh was a judge driving around in a very high spec Porsche that had been stolen from Germany. His reason for driving the car was it wouldn’t do the car any good just sitting in a garage, it needed to be driven ?

This corrupt administration has done so much damage to the profession of politics, and of public service. So many people just mutter that they 'are all the same', or roll their eyes at the latest revelation. Doing nothing, not letting your MP know that you are happy or unhappy about something is condoning this behaviour, and thus it goes on until the next court case.

Will there heckers like be any consequences. His cronies made millions from this pandemic. Jobs for the boys, as per. Boris will bumble, bluster and smirk his way through this one as he has with all the other revelations, deliberately avoiding the issue but reminding us all of what a wonderful job he did with the vaccine programme.

"Boris Johnson is failing the British people who have sacrificed so much during this pandemic.

Today, he tried to take us all for fools, saying he didn’t realise he was at a party. Unbelievable. Even for him.

We need to remove him from office. "

Ed Davey MP
