Prince Andrew stripped of his HRH
(213 Posts)And all his military titles have been returned to HM The Queen.
Along with others I have a sneaky suspicion that Charlotte will actually be more important than George.
erm....Charlotte???
Or are only the boys important?
I understand what you're saying MayBee70 but by stripping Harry and Andrew of their roles, things have thankfully been made easier for Louis when he grows up. Another step towards slimming down the monarchy which Charles and William want.
There is a difference between the statement from the Palace and the reports in the media. The media version is headlines like:-
"Queen strips Prince Andrew of all military titles and royal patronages" which implies that it was purely the Queen's decision, but the statement says:-
^ "With the Queen's approval and agreement, the Duke of York's military affiliations and Royal patronages have been returned to the Queen."^ which gives the impression that the move was by mutual consent,
The Guardian adds "It is understood the decision was taken by mutual agreement between the Queen and Andrew, but the ultimate decision would have fallen to the monarch."
I imagine she had a difficult time persuading him into "mutual agreement" to being effectively reduced to the ranks. He'll be even less chuffed if, as may happen, he ends up drummed out of the military. I wonder if there is a precedent for a Royal Duke being kicked out?
Is there anyone on gransnet or in the whole of the country who has not met Mr A Windsor! I really cannot give a fig as to what he is like! I don’t know him , never met him, never ever seen him in the flesh (ughhhh) my husband, father , grandfather, son, brother , great uncle, etc were not in the navy, so I have no amusing anecdote to tell!
The only people who I feel sorry for are his mother and his daughters! We are all going to get absolutely sick to the teeth with ‘here say’ stories and Garbage reporting from the Daily Mail and the red tops!! It will rumble on for weeks or months, just wait for the tv series, the feature film, live broadcast from USA and the book to accompany the series.
Let’s get over it now, !!! And just put ourselves in the queens shoes, as she must be feeling like her world is collapsing around her. Rant over!! If you don’t like this, well, tough t…ies, it just my view.

I am not a royalist but my thoughts are with the Queen.
Some of her family have caused her so much heartache at a time when she is grieving for her husband.
Also she is faced with her government which is in disarray (to put it mildly)
The person she needs the most at the moment is Harry, who would have been perfect to take over Andrew’s military roles. She must feel so let down. I’ve never understood why Andrew is her favourite, though.

So some people on here think he’s guilty and some people on here think he’s innocent - he should stand trial then surely? If he pays her off then that spesks volumes doesn’t it? Really shows up the whole archaic monarchical system for the nonsense that you can be born into a “ role” whether or not you have any qualities which fit that role or not.
Nothing at all to do with Royalty. Anyone with money , think Epstein, can pay her off. Wonder why she’s gone after Royalty when many others have , six I believe, and she flew on a trip to Thailand, supposedly been involved with her, mostly Americans. Seemingly everyone sees him as guilty, and now sure he won’t get a fair hearing. Remember Cliff. Obviously Andrew is not popular, just dislike the guilty verdict before anything proven.

An individual who is trafficked to be used to provide sexual favours can’t give consent.
You need an emoji of someone banging their head against a brick wall ??.

That man has no grace nor empathy, he should have handed the titles over but no he had to be stripped of them. He could have saved his mother, brother and William a lot of heartache. Now he is disgraced and serve him right
Whether Andrew is rude, arrogant, overbearing and entitled, it doesn't have any bearing on whether or not he is innocent.
As far as I am aware there have been no other accusations of inappropriate sexual misconduct throughout his life.
Once again the Queen has acted with her sense of duty and what is right, uppermost. Of all the Queen's children Andrew has always come across to me as the most entitled. Give me Princess Anne any day.
I think the Queen has done the right thing and it will be a relief for her. As with Harry, she can now adopt the "not my problem" attitude, and she need not get involved with either of them anymore. Sad, but the right way.
That woman what a very nasty comment allsorts

Iam we are all guessing, i really believe he slept with her but
not raped her, but with all the interviews which have been given and the fact that one man couldn’t be accused because he
was covered by the agreement with no names mentioned yet
Andrew could be accused, surely no one can expect him to come out of this innocent.
You have decided he is guilty
I believe V G texted a friend saying she had had dinner with Prince Andrew and slept with him. The picture was taken because she wanted one of her with Prince Andrew for her mother. So I believe he slept with her but I don’t believe it was rape. Another case of recollections may vary.

And why he sold his 7 bed ski chalet in Verbiers to pay for it. Took a big hit on the selling price but needs must.
I read there is a £12 million mortgage on it.
The RF obviously thinks he is guilty or they would fight tooth and nail to defend him. They certainly wouldn’t have taken any titles from him. My thinking is he is probably guilty of much more than we are being told and it is all being hushed up.
Calistemon Charles was friendly, not at all arrogant and no side to him at all. Andrew was arrogant and overbearing.
That's pretty much what I expected. That is how they have always come across. Charles got roasted in the press some years ago and was much disliked, but I always liked him and felt he was a decent chap. He has proved me right. Andrew I have always felt was pompous, entitled and full of his own importance.

Like Harry, what was there to do after army, navy life, royal
duties may have been boring,
He was a Trade Envoy, or some such, wasn't he?
Quite a plum job some may think.
He certainly couldn't be expected to live on his Naval pension.

Wow, that was a quick response. It usually takes longer than minutes.
“Oh what a tangled web we weave……….”
Why are you being so unkind tonight?
Calistemon

Nah, sorry.
He boarded the ship, said to Captain (see original poster of story) you can call me Prince Andrew. You can call me Sir bkah, bkah
Then went to visgirls husband and said you can call me et, etc.
Then , according to visgirl went to another officer. You can call me blah, blah.
And then another one, Lots, all round the ship, according to her.
May be it was true to begin with. Now it’s just silly.Possibly true.
If he said it to the Captain it would have gone round the ship and, if he pompously said "You can call me Andrew" in the wardroom, even trying to be friendly, some would have said "and you can call me Sir!"
To continue:
DH has just been chatting to a friend, ex-RN, who served with both Prince Charles and Prince Andrew.
Charles was friendly, not at all arrogant and no side to him at all.
Andrew was arrogant and overbearing.
