So far, 2022 is not a good year to be an entitled white man!

Johnson, Prince Andrew, Djokavic are all having a bad start to their year. Whatever our opinions of any of them, and I am sure we vary, they have all considered themselves to be unfettered by the standards of behaviour, acceptance of legislation that the majority of us adhere to.

So far it's not been a good year for politicians or the Met having integrity, either. Poor Queen.

Poor Sarah Everard's family and friends.

I also don't think it makes a difference what family someone is born into or what colour their skin is, but how they behave. I know this is last year, but that policeman who killed Sarah Everard was known as "the rapist" by his colleagues. He obviously felt entitled to "help himself" to women against their will and the Met stood by and enabled him. What else have they enabled and hushed up?

Am I lying in your opinion Terribull. I’m not sure what I said is a lie.

Thank you Annie.

Anniebach Tue 18-Jan-22 08:57:38

Agree with you maddyone

I agree that the three men in the original post have behaved dreadfully. Also Frank Lampard, as I saw yesterday behaved badly and wasn’t convicted although apparently driving with a coffee in one hand and his mobile in the other. But the original post is racist. All white men are not entitled although some are, and all black/brown men are not humble although some are.

.........err shocking and distorted, manipulation and lies confused

I'm not seeing it, well not from maddyone at any rate.

maddyone - but the post says 'entitled white man' - and yes, I like to see them thwarted, ridiculed and criticised, because of their (unacceptable) attitude and behaviour.

Thank you Hetty the OP does say entitled. The word white should not be in there because it’s racist in my opinion. I hope my second post addresses the OP more accurately.

Only three, I suspect there are several more! Frank Lampard for example who it seems can multi task, there's me thinking only women can do that, but no Frank it seems can drive with a phone in one hand and a coffee in the other shock Well that's white men for you, yes all of them, which is millions, possibly several billion, who knows wandering around the planet with their Brahmin top of the heap mentality, sadly a characteristic that no other race or women for that matter share. I'm only sorry I've contributed to the problem having married a white man and then produced two more sad .

What have I done ?sad it's never too late to reflect on the error of our ways.

I'm not sure this is relevant but my lovely, kind, sensitive 35 year old nephew joined in a conversation at work recently and was told by a colleague 'As a white heterosexual male your opinion is irrelevant'.

Did anyone consider the possibility that the colleague might have been joking/ironic? Was the comment made by another white heterosexual male, or someone with a protected characteristic?
I wonder what the nephew’s response was.

Kandinsky Tue 18-Jan-22 07:40:41

From some of the posts on this forum you’d think non white men never put a foot wrong.

I feel sad that all heterosexual, white, middle class men are lumped together these days. They are not all entitled. They are not all irrelevant. And their opinions are just as valid as anyone else’s opinions. Some are entitled and arrogant, but the vast majority are not.

Could not agree more. ?

BlueBelle Tue 18-Jan-22 07:28:54

I don’t think it matters a hoot whether a man or woman is born into an entitled family or a poor one it’s what they do with that privilege that matters and some mentioned in the original post have used their privilege to walk on others so that’s what matters

GrannyGravy13 Tue 18-Jan-22 07:13:41

The examples credited in the OP are just idiots.

It is possible to be an idiot whatever your colour, your gender, your political persuasions etc.

Entitled white man is just another sound bite designed to cause devision.

Yes, with so much attention about LGBTQ, race and feminist issues, straight white men get no lookin. It is a fact that they are the only group that are not labeled “disadvantaged” in some way.
Wether the comment that “their opinion is not relevant” depends on the context of the conversation. It might be a very rude interjection or just a statement of reality.

Allsorts Tue 18-Jan-22 04:59:14

Just because a person does not hold the same views, there is no cause to be be rude, as I thought the reply to my original comment was. It is an actual person you are replying to. . I personally do not like the term Entitled White Man, meaning a person not white is above that, apart from the three men mentioned, being white they are all from different backgrounds, the behaviour they have shown is across the board, people who think they are above the rules that others follow, it is different personalities, plenty of women divas about, people that think only their way is correct. To continuously bring race into an argument is not helpful. Thank goodness we are a free country and allowed an opinion.

Katie59 Tue 18-Jan-22 04:44:11

BJ, Andrew and Djokovic are all fools in their own way but it has nothing to do with race at all. I’m sure there are fools from other races but not in the headlines at present.

Doodledog I'm not sure what the conversation was about but under what circumstances is it OK to be so rude and insulting?

Exactly three posts above yours I acknowledged that. Not reading posts before criticising is also rude in my book.
