Just that really. Scummings is not to be trusted. Broke rules himself.

Why is he now heading the mob rule out to get Boris? Don't get me wrong, I think BJ is a t**t. But Cummings is just as bad, if not worse.

I had a dream about Cummings last night.
He was trying to poison me with a sort of magic potion.
Sarah Vine was there too.
We were in my old school sports hall.
Someone had put a load of gravy and leftovers in my handbag, so I couldn’t find my phone to call 999?

FannyCornforth this did make me laugh… ?

Have you tried Positive News?

Oh poor Cummings.
My heart breaks for him.

When Cummings offended he was the first to break the rules - they now fade almost into insignificance compared to Boris. Not just the many parties but the lack of a face mask in Hospitals & other places, etc, etc. Cummings never put anyone at risk & we now know his family were being threatened, so hardly surprising he wanted to get them to safety. His hasty exit was apparently after Carrie had “ laid into him “ & caused a lot of trouble. Having seen part of a long interview with Cummings I’d certainly trust him more than Boris, with those shifty eyes & guilty grin. Always grinning, ugh.

Question... Has he now got a job? Or is he just loading the Gun for the media?

Thanks for answer.. I didn't know that.

I think Cummings will attempt to secure another ‘Special’ role in the Government once Johnson has gone. It is alleged that he’s getting closer to Javid (presumably having calculated that he is the most likely candidate for the PM’s job) Part of the scam is that, by leaking information about a few of Johnson’s misdemeanours (and providing ‘evidence’ of advising him against rule breaking) he can attempt to promote himself as a moral paragon. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Cummings - he has knowledge and skills which will be badly needed by the Government to weather the economic and political storms ahead…

I agree. I wonder what he's got on Javid.

Namsnanny Tue 25-Jan-22 14:04:41

I would add that I think Cummings is determined to pay Carrie back for meddling.

I think you may be spot on with your summery of events SaraC

Iam64 Tue 25-Jan-22 13:45:24

You’re correct SaraC - another reason he’ll be back is because Johnson isn’t the only one that Cummings holds power over

Oldnproud Tue 25-Jan-22 13:44:34

I seem to remember that back at the time of the Barnard Castle fiasco, quite a number of Gransnetters were convinced that the only reason that Cummings was not dismissed there and then was because he had too much dirt on Boris. He knew where the bodies were buried, so to speak, and Boris dare not risk it.

I thought they were probably right back then, and still do.

Yes, Cummings is a weasel, but Boris is a weak, self-serving liar, who clearly had things to hide.

Quite frankly, it doesn't bother me one bit that the person now revealing Johnson's misdemeanors is another liar. Just as long as the accusations can be proved true, I don't care who they have come from.

Cummings has refused to give verbal evidence to Sue Grey;s enquiry; will only submit written evidence; doesn't do a lot to enhance his already virtually non-existent credibility

I would have thought that written evidence was, in many instances, more credible than verbal accounts.

It depends whether or not what is written is actual evidence though - verifiable copies of emails, recordings etc. of the alleged events, or just a written, unverifiable account of events.

Media or specifically the BBC who seem to have a government vendetta in progress- where has impartial news reporting gone?

How can reporting an illegal series of parties that were held when the major partygoer had made parties illegal possibly be reported 'impartially'?

Why 'specifically the BBC' incidentally? Have the other channels or newspapers reported the story any differently? I can't say I've noticed if so, and I have read/listened to and seen news on the subject from a range of sources.

vegansrock Tue 25-Jan-22 13:11:00

Are the BBC only allowed to report pro government propaganda?

He charges people to read his blog and there are loads of subscribers so he makes quite a bit of dosh that way. Those who are calling him a liar now are the same ones who fell for his Barnard Castle and Brexit lies.

This, absolutely

GillT57 Tue 25-Jan-22 13:03:50

goodness knows why Boris stood by him as he did. Maybe because Cummings sorted Brexit for him? He masterminded the whole lot, the misinformation, lies, stories to the press that the Brexit supporters chose to believe, that is why.

He runs a substack blog that people can subscribe to to get 'inside information'. I assume that he is leaking things to journalists via that, as you can pay a higher rate to ask him direct questions. (I don't subscribe, I hasten to add)

Maybe because we are going find out the truth about the last two years ?it’s slowly coming out ?

GoldenAge Tue 25-Jan-22 12:42:01

The media is hanging on to Cummings' every word because the words he is choosing to give are those he can back up with evidence and this is exactly what he has been waiting for. He's not going to make up stories that he can't prove so every little thing that comes out of his mouth is a tiny nugget of information that let's face it, is another nail in Johnson's coffin because he's simply getting his revenge which is always better served cold. It's not rocket science - he knows where all the skeletons are and they will continue to come out for some time I'm sure.

Sarnia Tue 25-Jan-22 12:37:58

Cummings is a treasure trove of gossip. That's why the media hang on his every word. It sells their papers.
