As if there isn't enough evidence that Johnson is unfit for office

Now we read reports that senior civil servants and ministers were having to insist that Johnson works from the office and not from home due to red boxes, many of them full of highly sensitive information, laying about in the Downing Street flat, open for all to see including Carrie's pals and friends who were frequent visitors. It has been described as a 'Frat house atmosphere', with people in and out.

Johnson now saying ‘You’ll need a tank division to drag me out of Downing Street’. That’ll be interesting.

Following Trump, will Johnson leave gracefully when he required to step down?

Will he ever leave!??

Thank you, Lucca ?

Surely as far as Barclay is concerned, it is a conflict of interest.

How can this be allowed legally, I just don’t understand it.

This is Boris Johnson. What’s the law got to do with it….

Perhaps he will resign as a MP

Whitewave I agree with your second sentence - they've been my thoughts for a long time. However, it's getting so bad now that I dread to think how much harm he cause before he finally goes, taking the rest of them with him if possible.

Tbh the more I think about it, the more it becomes obvious that it is yet another disaster in the making.

Long May it continue and long May Johnson continue in the role as it can only be a disaster for the Tory party.

I know Barclay is really dim, but it is worrying.

Wikipedia and other sources say Guto Harri he was suspended by GB news for taking the knee and he subsequently resigned.

So Johnson is politicising the civil service role.

He is grabbing power.

This is not good is it?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 05-Feb-22 20:16:24

Johnson has just hired a presenter who was fired from GB News as his No 10 Communications Director.

This is not satire.

Steve Barclay MP as Chief of Staff? Does he resign as an MP? Or is he answerable to Parliament? I can think of no democracy where the chief of staff can also be in the legislature.

Chief of staff to the leader of a major country is a definitional 7 day a week job. It is simply not compatible with constituency service or duties and votes in parliament. To do it properly and seriously he would have to resign as an MP. What is Boris Johnson thinking?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 05-Feb-22 19:49:28

Stephen Barclay is appointed the new Chief of Staff at Number 10.

ERG moving in.

Remember Barclay?

He was the Tory MP who voted against the Brexit legislation he proposed within the following hour?.

This is traditionally a roll filled by the civil service. If the other rolls are filled by Tory MPs it will be like a coup.

Is the legal?

You might object to a bit of swearing but you could not possibly argue with anything he says. He tells it like it is.

Kali2 Sat 05-Feb-22 18:14:37

'his' stuff.

Yes he is brilliant and spot on, but the swearing goes off the scale usually, so I don't like sharing.

Dinahmo Sat 05-Feb-22 17:59:19

Thanks for that Kali I hadn't heard of Jonathan Pie before. Excellent.

Lucca Sat 05-Feb-22 17:29:24

Jonathan Pie is brilliant.

You beat me to it! I was just going to ask if anyone had seen the video.

Kali2 Sat 05-Feb-22 16:50:43

Don't normally share is stuff as the swearing could be very upsetting for some. This one is relatively mild in swearing, so here goes

Austerity didn't work last time around, even its architects admit that.

Fishy Rishi might know a lot about money, but he is economically illiterate. Which is a very sad state of affairs for a Chancellor of the Exchequer. (Mind you, Rachel Reeves isn't much better...)
