Whitewave I agree with your second sentence - they've been my thoughts for a long time. However, it's getting so bad now that I dread to think how much harm he cause before he finally goes, taking the rest of them with him if possible.

Tbh the more I think about it, the more it becomes obvious that it is yet another disaster in the making.

Long May it continue and long May Johnson continue in the role as it can only be a disaster for the Tory party.

Steve Barclay MP as Chief of Staff? Does he resign as an MP? Or is he answerable to Parliament? I can think of no democracy where the chief of staff can also be in the legislature.

Chief of staff to the leader of a major country is a definitional 7 day a week job. It is simply not compatible with constituency service or duties and votes in parliament. To do it properly and seriously he would have to resign as an MP. What is Boris Johnson thinking?

This is traditionally a roll filled by the civil service. If the other rolls are filled by Tory MPs it will be like a coup.
