What a lot of power Dominic Cummings thinks he has...

Does anyone defending Johnson believe that if the boot were on the other foot, he wouldn't behave in an equally treacherous manner?

How that man can sleep at night knowing what he has put Nazanin and her family through I do not know.

But perhaps Johnson is not like most decent folk. He has no sense of right and wrong. No conscience.

Boris Johnson is a contemptible toad who has made our country a laughing stock on the international stage.

He and Cummings deserved each other, they are as bad as each other.

Along with Johnson's other failures, remember that many of the problems Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe in prison in Iran has had is because Johnson didn't check his facts before saying that she was simply teaching people journalism, when both her family and employer say she was doing no such thing.

Of all his wrong doings, this betrayal of Nazanin is by far the worst.

The one that says the same as the independent enquiry says.

There are two proven liars.

One contradicts the other.

It must be true that one of the proven liars is on this occasion, telling the truth.

No you’re not alone, I also thought it meant unimportant, inconsequential and nothing to do with height.

I think Cummings is an utter sleazebag and very dangerous. Nothings going to stop him squealing.

I seem to remember reading that it was thought he was on the ASD spectrum. Seems to fit the bill.

Recalling Cummings working with Gove in the D of E and observing his relentless pursuit of Boris, I find him a man who lacks self-regulation, the capacity for inner reflection, a conscience and a moral compass. I wonder what psychologists make of him.

I think it goes hand in hand with the weaseliness (if that’s a word) Lucca. He didn’t pull the wool over my eyes with that ridiculous Barnard Castle story and as I voted to remain he didn’t catch me there either. Much as I despise him, I do think he’s clever though. Hopefully too clever for his own good.

Thought he was appointed by Johnson, not the entire government.

He worked for Michael Gove for 7 years before working for Johnson. He was Gove's Chief of Staff at the Department of Education for some years.

So whilst he wasn't appointed by the entire government he certainly was employed by two of its key players.

Why give any publicity to a person who is not only unelected but is not even an official? It is not Cummings place or duty to remove a PM.

He can’t, but he can provide evidence on which to judge Johnson’s behaviour.

And - who gave Cummings his own press conference in the garden at number 10. That long rambling conference, for which he arrived late and proceeded to obfuscate and ramble I. Self justification.

Yes, and many were manipulated by him and his cohort when it came to misinformation spread through the press before the Brexit referendum. He masterminded the campaign that many were happy to believe

I realised after I posted that Cummings had also given written evidence to the Sue Gray enquiry. He is a man with a mission, right enough.

There is a big element of truth in this.

Both Cummings and Johnson have past (and present) history with the Russians.

Not if it is held to be true.

Far worse than him have given evidence that was accepted in a court of law.

The truth is that we have no idea at all how powerful Cummings is, we aren’t party to his relationships with the people who are behind getting Johnson out. What I do know is that there is a power behind his throne - blaming him is pointless, as he’s only one part of the jigsaw, and he’s probably not even a corner piece.
