The SNP to cut off the bottom half of classroom doors!

Here we are 2 years into the pandemic SNP ministers are to spend £300,000 chopping the bottoms off hundreds of classroom doors in an attempt to stop the spread of Covid, under a “crackpot” plan unveiled yesterday.

Nicola Sturgeon defended the spending but Holyrood’s opposition parties lambasted the “DIY ventilation” plan as a “lazy solution”.

Peasblossum, big cat , little cat so funny ! but it gives a sense of how stupid this idea is .
Definitely a fire hazard. The first thing that happens when fire alarms go off is doors automatically close to help save lives .

I must admit to enjoying this lighthearted thread, thank you Urmstongran

Is this Nicola Sturgeon’s ‘Doorgate’?

Will the pandemic be over before they're even halfway through?
That really made me laugh Calli. You are very witty!

Thinking about Boris (and doors), he could come up with an equally stupid plan to chop off the bottom of Number 10 door so that Dylin and Larry could pop in and out when they chose to.

From Little House in the Big Woods.

Once upon a time there was a man with two cats. A big cat and a little cat.
So he cut two holes in the door. a big hole for the big cat to go in and out and a little hole for the little cat………..

Ventilation and fresh unadulaterated air are of prime importance for stopping transmission of airborne infections.

School uniforms must be more practical allowing for layers of warmth, including the lower body.

Nothing whatsoever to do with Johnson, Maybee, there are plenty of threads about him.

Perhaps your posts are diversionary tactics?

It wasn’t a thread about Johnson until the instigator of the thread introduced him into the conversation. I just question the reasoning for doing so. It wasn’t necessary.

How rude.

This thread is not an attempt to divert, MayBee70

As Callistemon21 says, your post is an attempt to divert. Futile though.

Maybee if we're allowed to laugh at Johnson et al then why not Sturgeon?
She isn't a saint and she isn't perfect but those who say anything against her, including Scottish Grans, are jumped on and squashed like flies.

If we didn't sometimes laugh at some of the more stupid things our politicians suggest, then we'd cry all day.

It still doesn’t ‘make Johnson look good’ though. Nothing can do that, not now that people can see him for what he really is. Although perhaps this tread is an attempt to divert peoples attention from that fact.

Or did I mean prison bars to keep the monkeys in?

Doors with bars would let plenty of air in.

Cutting the stable door oh that’s good ?

Maybe the kids would prefer saloon type bars, chop off top and bottom!

oops, I meant saloon type doors not bars!
Heaven forbid the mention of alcohol! Or did I mean prison bars to keep the monkeys in?

the second thing because first he said "You've just made that up ?"

Somebody upthread said the same thing! grin

Apart from the logistics of mass door choppings in Scotland's schools, has anyone considered the fire safety risks of this half baked, tin pot idea?

Only sensible Gransnetters!

But it was the first thing DH said, well the second thing because first he said "You've just made that up ?"

Plus Callistemon you cannot undertake maintenance work on such a scale in schools during term time. That only gives a small window of time, the summer holidays being the ideal opportunity.
When of course as you say, the virus might be well on its way to leaving the building! grin
