My MP is Tory front bench minister Anne Marie Trevelyan who never responds to emails, she stitched the sheep farmers up over importing New Zealand Lamb, still failing to get the A1 dualled, was nowhere to be seen after storm Arwen when thousands of her constituents had no electricity for two weeks. I just hope folk remember her failure. Waste of space unless TV cameras are there!

Still waiting for parts of the A1 to be dual carriaged that she promised when Cameron was PM.

Labour aren't supposed to think about earnings in this way----are they ?

silverlining that'll be right ! Local council has a deficit of several millions which constitutes the closure of certain public areas such as libraries, toilets, leisure centres, baths, places that matter to the general public.
The situation is criminal when you think that there are at least 6 people who work for the council are earning above £100,000+ each-----for what ??

My Mp just repeats, verbatim, whatever the current tory soundbite is.

As does mine! That is assuming she bothers to reply, my last email about visiting rights in care homes referred to the parties at Number 10 and all I got was an automatic reply acknowledging that I had sent one! I tried to find out when she hold constituency meetings but she doesn’t any more dispute to Covid!

She really is a waste of space, we hardly ever see her in the local area although I don’t think she plays a major role in government, at least I never see her name mentioned.

I wrote to my MP in a similar vein - relative in a care home and there was no sign of visiting rules being relaxed when restrictions eased. Even designated carers were refused, which is illegal. Visiting has been reinstated now, but still waiting for a reply.

I often write to my Labour MP, mainly on disability issues, his replies are starting to sound a bit defensive

Sorry to derail the thread a bit, but next time you write to your MP, ask him about the consultation that’s not long closed on yet more reform of disability benefits - more tinkering with pip to make it harder to claim for those genuinely disabled and eventually proposing that it is merged with universal credit. If it goes ahead disabled people who need the support given by pip, will no longer be eligible unless they qualify for UC. You can imagine the implications. There’s a green paper on the findings due later this year. Almost no publicity given to the proposals because everyone’s too busy looking at the ‘shiny shiny’ things going on to distract them.

I wouldn't waste pen and paper writing to any of those lot at Westminster !

I read or heard ( probably bbc) that the government decides how much finance different areas get and labour councils are getting less than Tory councils, which get more.
Not sure if that’s correct but I wouldn’t be surprised if it is.

Yes its odd how a LOT of the MP's are now bestowed with a Dame or Knight hood isn't it? A reward for supporting the conservatives?(or at very least for not blocking their policies?)?

We are one of the poorest areas in the country.

Since around the mid-90's Labour has had control of Wirral. What's been done ?-----------Sweet FA ! How does anyone think that any of us will be voting for anyone ? The place is a lost cause. Only for private enterprise the place would have fallen into the rack and ruin that's already visible in certain parts of the county.

What does this tell you about a Labour controlled area ??

Our local MP is also the speaker of the house (Sir Lindsay Hoyle) so i am going to email him, and tell him also that he must intervene where Rishi says that "people cannot opt out" of they're so- called £200 'benefit' on the fuel- its just a loan to be paid back, so NO THANKS, i would rather NOT have it forced upon me!!!!??

If you do email or write to them, remember to put your full address with postcode (and a phone number?) on it. They can only reply to their own constituents.

My Tory MP toes the party line , but that doesn’t stop me writing to him. Just so he knows....
He usually replies but rarely acknowledges my points and repeats from the official template they must be provided with.
It’s the only way I get a say, otherwise my vote is wasted.

Angela Eagle will be too ensconced in her Dame-hood to now be bothered about her constituents.

My MP is a Tory (boo!!) but has come out against Mr Johnson several times. I have emailed him to thank him for standing up against things he thinks are wrong, even though it may go against his political career.

It doesn’t matter if your MP is an out and out Johnson supporter; every email saying he has to go has an impact. - my point exactly - couldn't agree more.

MPs have to look over both their shoulders: towards the cabal in No. 10 if they are wanting to climb the greasy pole; and towards the electorate who they need to vote for them. Sometimes they are torn in two. Nothing lost by us tugging on one side by writing them lots of letters/emails.

My Tory MP has replied to me - I know him in a music context, and he knows I do not vote for him. My tack with him is to tell him that I know he is a man of integrity and that I am sure that he will do the right thing, whilst outlining all the reasons why BJ is unfit for office. My DD is also in communication with him and she is taking a less subtle approach!

My Labour MP is Peter Kyle. You couldn’t get a harder working MP. He is excellent.

She has come to my house, door stepping several times, and I’m always a bit starstruck

He of the hair! My MP does reply to my emails but it really irritates me that she addresses me by the name my friends call me, not my proper name. I don’t quite know how that came about other than the fact that, as I email her on such a regular basis these days, she probably converses with me more than her own family and thinks that we’re besties! Most peculiar.

My MP is Michael Fabricant,dreadful man.My last 2 emails had no reply.I have let him know exactly what I think of him and Boris Johnson.

He also blocked me on Twitter,along with anybody else who dares to question him.
