She has tested positive with mild symptoms, let’s hope it stays that way. I truly hope she comes through it.

Those of you with faith maybe say a little prayer ??

Funnily enough, I was going to mention that Grany has all the info on the money side of things

I don't think so FannyCornforth

Grany uses Gransnet as a platform for the Republic Organisation and the propaganda has a political agenda.

Views are one thing, political organisations using chat forums in this way is surely against GN rules.

No, FannyCornforth she doesn’t. Grany takes her information from far left activist sites, and they always need to be taken with a very large pinch of salt. What they don’t know they make up.

Casdon, don’t spoil Grany’s fun.

The Royal Family’s financial dealings are top secret and very murky indeed.
It’s all detailed in the book ‘And What Do You Do?’

It wouldn’t surprise me either if the Queen Mother was border line alcoholic, but I don’t take such a dim view of these things.
Chin chin! ?

Poppsbaggie

Just a thought. This woman is 95, has led a pampered, cushy life on the back of the poor old British taxpayer. With any luck, her demise will see the end of monarchy with all the attendant hangers on . Do we really need them? I think not.

Okay we all agree those who gets covid we wish them well.

The queen has had a very privileged life the RF don't work they just attend. I agree.

Our Head of State is powerless as power is given to the PM she can only do what the PM her asks so is pointless too.

Queen doesn't do the job of defending our non written constitution though she and her family get the public money

Johnson is ruining this country people are being hard hit in many ways But the RF do not suffer their money goes up every year not down. Queen gets over £20 million from Duchy plus the bloated Sovereign Grant Charles gets over £20 million also from Duchy more than several Heads of State combined.

Before queen was crowned monarchs before her were the only ones paid queen includeds her whole family.

The RF insists on secrecy they as a public body are getting paid public money they are not accountable they are exempted from the freedom of information act. They are more secretive than the secret services and they have reason to be secretive. What do RF they got to hide. Perhaps if we knew it would end the monarchy.

People are seeing how the RF is Andrew paid around £12 plus lawyers fees and want to know who's paying?
Charles investigated by met police cash for access cash for honours.

Time we chose our own president who would stand up for our people and our constitution.

her mother was borderline alcoholic and left her with massive debts to pay
???
Are you recommending a daily Gin and Dubonnet to ensure a long life, hollysteers?

The Queen Mother passed away ..... in 2002 at the age of 101. Her estate was valued between £50 to £70 million and was passed onto her daughter Queen Elizabeth.

The Queen Mother still managed to leave £14 million in trust for William and Harry - with the proviso that Harry should get more and yet he still whinges about his father cutting off his allowance.

Iam64

Ok hands up anyone who lives in a family where mo one had an affair, got divorced, had a family member who drank too much?

???

And all under the scrutiny of the media

GrannyGravy13 Tue 22-Feb-22 09:13:27

I wish everyone a good recovery who has covid including the Queen. It would be very heartless to do otherwise

But "her mother was borderline alcoholic and left her with massive debts to pay" made me laugh.

Casdon Tue 22-Feb-22 08:23:38

I thought that too Iam64. People in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, as none of us are paragons of virtue ourselves, and neither are our families.

I don’t think she has had a cushy life at all. A lot of worries on her shoulders and a difficult family to boot. I am not a royalist but I can still see she has been a good monarch and I can still wish her well.

MaizieD Tue 22-Feb-22 00:12:16

I'm a bit hmm about the 'borderline alcholic'. She must have had a pretty tough liver to have made it to over 100...

FarNorth Mon 21-Feb-22 23:44:45

Jeezo.
Relatives, who'd have 'em.

hollysteers Mon 21-Feb-22 23:29:33

It’s not always the men of the Royal family causing trouble, although not blood relations, her DILs gave her a good run for her money, Diana’s dramas, Fergie’s toes and MeAgain’s woes.

Her sister had a rollercoaster life giving her grief, her mother was borderline alcoholic and left her with massive debts to pay and Princess Anne managed to have affairs, divorce and remarry under the radar.

Sweetpeasue Mon 21-Feb-22 23:26:46

Disgusting unpleasant post.

Mollygo Mon 21-Feb-22 22:57:36

Really Poppsbaggie? Even if you have evidence for all that, as tickingbird said, a tasteless and unpleasant post.

I find it a bit odd that people are being berated for saying that the Queen is probably in a better situation than most when it comes to coping with being ill, but nobody thinks its distasteful to say the poor woman will probably be dead by Christmas!

FannyCornforth Mon 21-Feb-22 19:55:40

LadyLeft yes, that’s exactly what I think.
She’s a Middleton woman through and through, with a good dose of the female side of the Windsors .
