Some talk of plans for Ukraine ... but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Could they fly food in and people out, where necessary? The Ukrainians certainly seem to want them; the US is looking actively at "back-filling", i.e., supplying Poland with replacements.

You all seem so certain about what is right or what is wrong with this idea. I just have no idea. I can understand why those in Ukraine want planes and why some other countries don't want Ukraine to have them.

I don’t think combat planes are going to help the situation, they are never going to match the Russians, it will just escalate the conflict to a new level of destruction. They will have to refuel and rearm outside Ukraine, that will bring Poland into the war, it's easy to destroy a runway.
Keep up the supply of anti tank and anti aircraft weapons the Russians will give in.

I think we might have to rethink our plans to visit friends in Romania and Bulgaria this summer.

No Putin isn’t going to invade Poland, but he might threaten the west with extermination.

The reason being that his military aren’t up to it, they couldn’t be stretched to that level.

Yes it is true about the planes etc. supplying Ukraine with planes has been mentioned by the USA I thought.

I think this is a terrible idea.
It could be just what Putin has been waiting for, and if he interpreted it as an aggressive move from the West, it could be just the excuse he is waiting for to invade Poland.

More about this just now. It did sound as if the US are thinking about it.
