Doesn’t she just? I’m 71 (just) and I don’t read the DM. I have gone from admiring Harry to loathing him for the way he has behaved. I have no compunction about making my feelings about his behaviour towards his family and his country known. Don’t you dare pigeonhole me for that.

Honestly, it's astonishing to me to read these same comments on EVERY M&H thread. If you don't care about them, just give yourselves a break and don't post, why get all het up and nasty?

A very valid point Volver. Of course they have staff running their organisation. Of course they will be made aware of causes to support, and research will be presented to them…and to the duchess of Cornwall the duke of Cambridge, the Essexes etc etc
And whether you Like any of those people or not if they are in any way influential in helping a good cause why immediately attack ?? I just don’t get it.

They may be a silly pair in some ways, they may have got things wrong but why not look at the bigger picture of the CAUSE they are lending support to??

But Josiann thats's such a skewed view of how things work, really. Whether we like it or not, M&H have started a Foundation that is interested in doing something about vaccine equity. Now people can criticise them all they like, but that's what they've done. Are we criticising them for having people help run the Foundation? Is that what we're doing?

Do you suppose Charlize Theron does all the work of her Outreach Project without staff? That the President of Croatia doesn't have somebody opening his letters and replying to his emails? That the Moderator of the Free Church of Scotland spends all his days scouring the papers for something to lend his name to?

No, of course not. But because M&H are looked on the way they are, every single thing they do is criticised. As I've said before, if Harry announced he'd found the cure for cancer somebody would say that he didn't wash the test tubes himself.

No volver, quite the opposite. What I mean is that their staff are busy hourly sifting through the stuff then present it to M & H as a good idea to jump on. I can't see Harry in particular having the stamina to research and analyse like you do, nor the time nor inclination.
Even if the People's Vaccine approached them, I am guessing a member of staff sifted the request out first. So in that respect they operate a bit like the RF or any organisation, that should be of comfort to Harry!

So if people read all the statements issued by H and M and then criticise them , I wonder why they read the statements in the first place when they don’t care/ don’t want to hear anything from them?

People are not being manipulated. They learn a fair bit of the truth simply by listening to the comments and statements made directly by Harry and Meghan via the press, the media and their books.
It is healthy for society for people to make up their own minds and express their own opinions, just as you feel free to express yours.

But how rude your comment on Esspee's personal experience of an island where the take-up of the vaccine is so low, and is not , other than to you, apparently, common knowledge:

I did follow the link and find the letter. I know I'm boring, but I actually want to find out about things before I pass judgement on them. But how many posts have we had where people assume they know what its all about and just want to have a go because its M&H?

I think the thread might have gone better if there had been a link to the actual letter and the language used, and to the list of actual signatories.

Passing comment is one thing.

But this thread is full of people completely ignoring the facts and making untrue comments about the pair of them, and not caring about reality.

That's not healthy for society.

No one really knows the truth in any of these newspaper stories reports on H & M.
Neither does anyone really know the truth how other people's minds think because a lot of the reactions are subjective and relate to different perspectives.
I and others have every right to be interested, to pass comment while sipping my coffee, and to discuss, or to just scroll on by.
And I have never referred to Meghan as a wicked wife.

Can you all not see that there is post after post of just reaction based on what you think and not on actual real life? That you would rather persist in what you believe to be the truth rather than the actual truth?

I don't have an axe to grind over M&H, despite all the barbed comments that have gone before about being a "Meghan supporter". But it worries me for the way this country will go in the future when people don't actually care about the truth of something, they just want to believe a fairy-tale story about the bad, bad prince and his wicked wife.

Re the signing, I dislike the fact that say Sarah Brown (who is presumably of the same persuasion as her husband), doesn't get to sign, alongside Gordon, yet Meghan does? Why is one wife's shouty voice of more value than another's, who quietly does an enormous amount of good for children in her own right?

I would imagine signing requires that you add your signature. Only Sarah Brown knows why she didn't. Or are you suggesting a husband signs for himself and his wife?

I think I'm trying to say that only people with credentials after their name seem to have signed, so Meghan is using Harry's title again?

I spent last month on an island where only 20% of the population are vaccinated. Their government was having to destroy huge stocks of out of date vaccines because of the low uptake.
