I suppose you can loathe more than one person but my feelings for Putin go way beyond loathing.

No doubt someone will come up with a way of blaming M&H for Putin eventually. Possibly they invented Covid as well. In fact every global crisis might be laid at their door. It is of course M who is the mastermind and H the unwary, easily led, vulnerable prince.

I hand on heart think this is an age thing. The older the commentator the more vicious the attack on H&M. The more likely the Daily Mail reader, the more misled the comments. Honestly, it's astonishing to me to read these same comments on EVERY M&H thread.

If you don't care about them, just give yourselves a break and don't post, why get all het up and nasty?

I think my reaction earlier could be described as exasperation rather than, as suggested, my own description of het up and nasty. I wasn't being nasty when I suggested the almost universal statements on here are from an older demographic. As in, I don't see this on other forums I frequent, it's - seriously here - just "Grans"net. As in, a forum aimed at and presumably frequented by, women of a certain age. Not meaning to being ageist, in my opinion I'm putting 2 + 2 together and not seeing a lot of empathy towards a couple in their late 30's - early 40's with young children.

Don't feel the need to explain it any further.

For the record MzFitz, I didn’t take offence at your description as I am a mid sixty grandmother who reads the Daily Mail(amongst other papers)!

I also wouldn’t be offended if I was described as a middle aged woman who read the Guardian either as compared to some Grans in their 80s/90s I’m a youngster!

As for empathy for parents with young children, like most on here, I have tons, especially for all those struggling financially with tough jobs, poor housing etc. Harry and Meghan? Not so much actually...

Perhaps people of the age demographic that GN is aimed consider respect for elders and good manners to be worthwhile attributes in younger people. Not much in evidence in H&M these days.

I don't think Meghan is a bit dull as the article claims.
Harry never used to be but he is becoming rather boring now.

But that's sometimes what happens when one approaches middle age and becomes a responsible parent.
The problem is he's not really trained for anything else apart from the Army and some aspects of Royal life.

I just wish they didn't keep on making what they think are profound announcements about world affairs as if their views matter, when they said they didn't want press attention.
What they say and what they do contradicts each other.

I'm glad he found his love, has two lovely children but they seek the publicity they said they despise and trash his family whilst using the royal connections.

I have 3 daughters ( 43, 50, 52) I would say their opinions are even more scathing than mine.

Well it does in the context of what we're talking about maddyone.

Assertions are made in this thread that Harry has lost all his popularity and that its not only the older demographic who dislike him.

But in truth, the survey shows that the older generation are more likely to say they don’t like him than younger people. So what we are seeing on a site that is targeted at “older” people is a skewed view of what the whole population think. (Cue cries of “Its only a survey! My mum’s hairdresser’s cousin doesn’t like him either and she’s only 12.”)

Also, younger people are more positive towards him and will probably remain so, as he is more like them so they can relate. That’s interesting for the future path of the RF.

Popularity is a very ephemeral means of looking at anyones long term importance.

Over the years, all members of the RF have been popular or reviled in turn as their life progressed.

Prince Philip was criticised for a great deal of his life; it was only after his death that the public learned of his involvement in his many, many charitable enterprises.
