At this moment in time I am just so happy that both Nazanin and Anoosheh Ashoori are on their way back home to their families.

I also hope that they are given the much needed privacy away from the media to start their physical and mental healing.

Just seen pic of this fine woman onboard and coming HOME! TeArs of joy are being shed - such good news at an awful time in the World….

There is only one reason that we have this happy ending in site for this poor lady, and that's the recognition by the UK govt that it needs another oil supplier now that things are going pear-shaped on the Russian front, and that it's not going to get that oil supplier without paying its very large debt. Of course the UK has coughed up. There was never going to be any choice about this.

Heart in mouth and praying that they arrive safely on British soil in the next few hours. What an ordeal it has been for them and their families. ???

British-Iranian nationals Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and Anoosheh Ashoori have been transferred to a British team at Tehran's airport - as reports from Iran says the UK handed over £400m.

I will be keeping my fingers crossed until she is out of Iranian airspace.

LilacChaser Wed 16-Mar-22 12:40:43

This is fantastic news.

Tulip Siddiq must be congratulated for her tireless work. She has never given up on her constituents

grannygranby Wed 16-Mar-22 12:13:57

Yes on her way. Well done Liz Truss

Ailidh Wed 16-Mar-22 12:10:13

volver

I'm pretty hard boiled but that's made me cry.

Me too.

Though I'm holding my Neath until she touches down.

Grantanow Wed 16-Mar-22 12:00:02

Looks like good news for her and her family. Let's hope it works out. The UK government is clearly anxious not to go into details publicly so there may be broader aspects to this.

DaisyAnne Wed 16-Mar-22 11:25:57

She is there Jaylucy. Iranian newspapers saying she is going to be released. It's the tenterhooks moment.

Kikibee Wed 16-Mar-22 11:23:03

Yay! lets hope she boards her plane safely and is back with us soon. I was overjoyed to see this. I have signed so many petitions for her and watched her husband on hunger strike etc.. it is excellent news grin

jaylucy Wed 16-Mar-22 11:21:07

Latest breaking news is that she is travelling to Tehran airport.

SillyNanny321 Wed 16-Mar-22 11:18:39

Will not believe they are letting her go until she steps foot on British soil as it would be typical of Iran to re-arrest her as she is still under their control! Praying that she gets home this time!

DaisyAnne Wed 16-Mar-22 11:11:53

Just listening and Nazanin's sister-in-law is saying she is still in the control of Iran, in the airport and had not been handed over yet. I have no idea how these poor people can even breathe.

Antonia Wed 16-Mar-22 11:04:37

I am so emotional about this. I will celebrate the minute her plane lands. That poor lady has been through so much, and I just want to see her reunited with her husband and daughter.
Even so, I think she will need years of counselling to try to come to terms with it all. Wishing her all the very best.
