Everything crossed. Nazanin has had her passport returned.

I have just heard this news and I’m thrilled to bits. Apparently she’s at the airport. I won’t feel relieved until she’s back on UK soil.

Not just Nazanin but Anoosheh Ashoori has been released too.

I hope they are travelling with the British negotiators.

This might even make me praise Liz Truss.

Steady there volver. Wait 'till she's set foot on British soil before you go soft!

I'm pretty hard boiled but that's made me cry.

I’m soft boiled but also in tears

Wonderful news.

Fantastic news & not before time.
We owed the Iran government money which (supposedly) couldn’t be repaid because of worldwide sanctions. Stalemate for years but Liz Truss said this morning a negotiating team in Iran was making excellent progress for the 3 British citizens held by Iran.

Maybe instead of money we were able to negotiate medical supplies and such like to an equivalent value? Who knows. We won’t be told but I’m glad of the outcome, however it was achieved.

M0nica

As I said, I will not celebrate until the plane touches down in the UK. It would be quite in line with Iranian conduct so far, to change their minds when the plane with her in it is taxi-ing on the runway about to take off, and decide to lock her up again.

That's what DH said last night, M0nica
He hoped that the Iranians weren't playing another game of cat and mouse.

When Nazinin steps on to British soil I shall celebrate

Exactly MOnica. What time is take-off?

Grany Wed 16-Mar-22 10:41:15

That's wonderful news so glad

LOUISA1523 Wed 16-Mar-22 10:38:49

Yayyy....so happy for her....need to hear she's taken off now and homeward bound

Imagine her daughter’s joy.

GrannyGravy13 Wed 16-Mar-22 10:36:13

Fantastic news.

TillyTrotter Wed 16-Mar-22 10:35:03

I feel such relief for Nazanin. Marvellous news. Won’t be long until she is reunited with her family who have waited so long for the moment to come.

Visgir1 Wed 16-Mar-22 10:34:50

Let's hope she actually makes it onto the Plane this time.
No more silly buggers stopping and re-arresting her.
Fingers crossed this is it and she gets home.

Where did you see it please?
Independent 9 minutes ago didn't say that yet

A it late, but, Pippa Crear, Daily Mirror, posted it.

Like everyone else, I'm overjoyed to hear the news.

GagaJo Wed 16-Mar-22 10:27:21

Tenterhooks until that plane lands in the UK!

Just seen the breaking news. That’s wonderful and what a family reunion they will have but so sad it’s taken six years.

MayBee70 Wed 16-Mar-22 10:25:47

I’ve just checked and she has tweeted it….just said she’s at the airport….more to follow.

MayBee70 Wed 16-Mar-22 10:22:45

I haven’t seen it myself. DH has the tv on ( probably Sky News.. it’s what he usually watches) and shouted to me that Tulip had tweeted ‘she’s at the airport’.

At last. This poor lady has suffered so much. Our attempts to set her free have been slow and ineffective and in Johnson's case downright damaging. Her husband who has fought tirelessly must have wondered if this day would ever come and their young daughter will be so happy to be wrapped in her Mum's arms again. Wonderful, uplifting news.

henetha Wed 16-Mar-22 10:21:48

Just had a BBC news flash on my phone saying that she is on her way home. Thank goodness. Wonderful!
