The BPAS and the Women's Equality Part are campaigning to save women's access to tele medical care for abortion. Basically this enables women who cannot because of fear, restrictions or other factors access face to face medical care to access care by phone, or on-line, and to have the medication prescribed for a safe at home abortion. This is under threat by parliament. We have until 29th August to tell MPs that the service for vulnerable and abused women must stay More details here bpas-campaigns.org/campaigns/our-last-chance/
Please support the campaign and contact your MP.

Thanks for posting Farzanah I've been out most of the day and hadn't heard. Great news (Mind I'd like to have a word with the 188!)
Hurrah. MPs voted 215 to 188 to allow women in England to continue to access abortion services at home.
Yes GagaJo. I suppose inevitable on social media, where artificial “relationships” may be formed and misleading assumptions develop.
Completely different to face to face discussions. At least no physical slapping happening on here ?
Plenty of deliberate filibustering on GN.
Unfortunately squabbling derails threads.
It's bullying. I thought the site had moved away from that.
The problem is if you disagree with some people on one thread they will then follow you to another and criticise and no matter what you do if you make a mistake they will condemn you. It's very sad.
It is so sad
and it so sad other women can't even empathise and argue around semantics
I think evidence shows that this is indeed so JaneJ and sadly for many women and children, it continues.
I met quite a few during my working life.
Farzanah
Pity this post has been clouded by dispute over morning after pill.
I shall definitely support the BPAS campaign.
As I understand it when the pandemic started the government permitted access at home not only for the morning after pill, but for women who were already pregnant, under 10weeks gestation, access to abortifacient tablets, for which normally they would have to attend a clinic for the first tablet. This was apparently a temporary measure and is to stop, which will seriously disadvantage women who are unable to access a clinic for whatever reason.
Good post
It is almost an acknowledgement that more women would be abused during a pandemic

Members who continually peddle misinformation should be prevented from posting in my opinion.
Asking for another GN member to be banned from posting? Are you a moderator now Esspee?

You have done this on other threads where you insist you know what you are talking about but clearly do not. Are you not able to suggest someone may be wrong without being rude?
Think before posting. More forum policing. Not polite either.
Bordering on bullying I think.

That's a shame trisher, I'm sorry you feel like that. I've never known Esspee to ever be abusive but I know that she's an extremely intelligent and well respected poster who knows her stuff. Perhaps her particular field of expertise is in this subject and she understands the importance of women being given absolutely accurate information so that they can make the right choices and decisions. I'm sure she'd be willing to clarify that if you asked her.
Actually, she was quite rude to someone on another thread (not to be named, rules). I said nothing at the time, but wish I hadn't been now.
It's unnecessary.
Thanks Farzanah for a clear explanation. I think I sometimes post things in a hurry when I want to get something done and I am busy. I should really take more time.

I agree, I also saw it as offensive. Nothing wrong with making a correction, or pointing out a mistake, but why the need to be rude?
Trisher has a habit of misinforming members. Pointing this out is not rude it’s factual.
The abuse is advocating that anyone should be banned from posting Espee by all means point out mistakes and I will rectify any which can be proved but really wanting someone banned from posting that's a bit extreme.

I don't see any need to amend or remove any posts that drew attention to your inaccuracies trisher and, thanks to Esspee, those who do want to sign the petition will now be doing so fully informed with the correct information. Far better, yes?
Of course Chewbacca the point is that Espee's post also contains abuse I could take personally and which is against GNHQ guidelines. However I don't expect she will remove it.
I will most certainly not remove my post which is 100% true.
It does not contain abuse.
Didn't read it properly, of course the morning after pill cannot cause a foetus to abort.
Done. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Well, if you think that you've been abused you do have recourse to address that. Personally I haven't witnessed it so will leave that with you.

You have no idea what has gone on between me and Espee and although I completely agree she has an absolute right to her views I find her following me from one thread to another rather strange (I wouldn't do it). And there is abuse. There's no other name for it.
