Probably what it has always been, only now more obviously so
How did you vote and why today
Has anyone else done anything as daft as this?
Yesterday was the anniversary of the wall of remembrance.
Yesterday Johnson held a dinner for all the Tory MPs.
Yesterday the bereaved families stood outside of the hotel as an act of remembrance.
Yesterday not a single Tory MPs recognised the bereaved existence as they walked by.
Yesterday not a single Tory MP offered a word of condolence.
As Gordon Brown said. “
“There is hardship and they don’t hear
There is suffering and they don’t see
There is pain and they walk on by”
What has the Tory Party become?
Probably what it has always been, only now more obviously so
They can be removed. Go to
www.compassonline.org.uk/ and become part of the progressive alliance that will work to replace them at the ballot box.
They're all there to feather their own nests! They don't care about anyone else other than themselves!! We shouldn't be surprised, I certainly am not!!!!
There's no empathy at all from Sunak, Boris etc. They live in a bubble and have no idea how an average family lives, let alone the homeless, the unemployed, the sick... They don't care and they think that we can be appeased by the mantra of "levelling up".
Never discuss politics or religion was something I was often told growing up. Reading a lot of comments here I eould agree - but I do know I would never vote for a government made up of many of these gransnetters!!
Why anyone ever voted in a Tory Goverment after the devastation Margaret Thatcher caused is beyond words....Tories don't give a hoot bout working class people...
So Neilspurgeon0 you won't vote for Labour because Gordon Brown called some woman bigoted ( which IMO she was!!). However, you're quite happy to vote for a man who said that Muslim women wearing burkas " look like letterboxes", gay men "bumboys" and black Africans " piccaninnies" as well as other racist, sexist and homophones comments. Reflecting your own views perhaps?
People can disregard Labour because the man who led them 12 years ago made an ill advised remark.
But voted for a man who lied about just about everything and called homosexuals tank topped bum boys.
Is it any wonder we're in the state we are?
My mother, a hard working, lower middle class woman trying her best fir us always taught that once one had something to conserve on should vote conservative, and I listened. I desired Brexit as I could not see how a federal Europe, towards which we have been careering since Maastricht, could possibly good for Britain, so I did vote for Boris in the December election, although I have, in the past, voted SDP and Liberal. I could never vote Labour and Gordon Brown’s ‘Bigoted woman’ comment is just one minor aspect of why.
No more, any GREEN Party councillor who wants my vote just has to ask, else I will spoil my ballot paper, with rude anti-NewTory comments.
My family were a Tory voting family and my late father had his own business. He passed away when I was 15, almost 50 year ago. We never had a lot of money, but what we did have was food on the table, clothes and 2 loving parents. My father helped many people in our small community because he was on the parish council. I feel privileged to have had him as my dad. I’m sure if he was alive today he would be appalled by the tories behaviour these days.
I haven’t voted for the Tory party for a good few years now and I won’t be voting for them again!
They do not care.
Lockdown rule breaking did it for me - never voting for that Party ever again !
Not surprised! The majority of the government are a self serving, privileged bunch who have little understanding of how ‘ordinary’ people live.
Love or loathe Maggie, if she could she would batter these lot with her handbags out of office. Keffie12 Thu 31-Mar-22 11:50:54
I doubt it. Thatcher is the reason we are where we are now. I imagine this move, regardless of the people, toward a Small Government Market economy. This is what we grow ever closer to under this government.

When did politicians every worry about the regular person on the street. When will you ever learn these ppl no matter what party only want to know us when it’s voting time. All parties are full of hot air promises.
I promised that I would do this so I shall.
Tulip Siddiq
I saw it on tv, was horrified and disgusted , but not surprised because they live in their own echo chamber and are all about ‘we’ and never about ‘us’.
Nannashirlz. I'm sorry but they are not all the same. I have never voted Tory and never will. They are not called the nasty party for nothing, this present government are the worst in my lifetime, even for Tories and I'm not exactly a spring chicken.
I live in a market town that has literally always had a Tory mp. I checked the local council election results from last week. For my ward the Greens, an independent, Lib Dems and Labour votes combined come to less than half the Tory votes come to. I had hoped in view of their obvious contempt for the electorate that this time it may be different. I pray that come the GE it will be different.

It just shows to me
YET AGAIN
That this party has no respect or concern for people in this country that are not part of their elite "club"
Don’t forget who voted these elitists into government in the first place. If you did then you need to take a long, hard look at yourself.
Sunak is a perfect example. A privileged billionaire who proved last week that he has no idea of the problems the cost of living crisis will cause millions of ordinary people. How can he ? He doesn’t know what it’s like to try to make ends meet on a low salary or on benefits, and to have to choose between heating your home and putting food on the table. He’s typical of the rest of the cabinet - over privileged and not afraid to exercise that privilege. The British public have a reputation for being apathetic, and while we are, we will continue to vote in governments who don’t represent us. Boris is a seasoned liar and he and the rest of the government have proved with partygate, the contempt in which they hold the electorate. Wouldn’t it be lovely if the electorate showed just as much contempt at the polls ?
Whitewavemark2…?? The Tory Party has become what the Tory party has always been….oblivious to the working classes.
Tories are, and always have been, utterly heartless…their behaviour over this matter is completely unsurprising.

In general this is a generation of silver spoon Tories, who were born into elite and money. Bullingdon Eton boys who have no clue.
Thatcher era worked hard for where they got too. Thatcher wasn't born in poverty. Her dad was a shopkeeper and middle class. However not like this lot. These are the words of my life long labour friend.
I was bought up Tory blue family. I have not voted Tory since 2010 and never will again.
This lot are Orewell 1984 come true. They destroyed Maggie innovations ad the single market was her idea for starters.
They are a complete bunch of uncaring lieing toffs who couldn't careless about anyone but themselves.
Sorry if people don’t agree but I see our current government as a bunch of heartless lying anchors !!!
