The Prime Minister said there must be some parental involvement if children make life-changing decisions about gender.

I know of a person who was born as a girl, but told her parents when she was old enough to speak, at the age of two, that she wanted to be a boy.

Fortunately she had a very supportive family and was able to transition, starting at puberty.

He is now a happy and successful young man.

Puberty must be a nightmare for children who are convinced that they have been assigned the wrong sex.

Agree with everything said. Kids imagine themselves to be all sorts of things and are so easily influenced and confused. They are being used as pawns to validate the beliefs of adults.

I'm also horrified how many teachers are pandering to this nonsense..
By allowing this mass brainwashing in schools they are failing to safeguard our children.
Shocking.

How many children would want to transition if they'd never heard the word Transition. Or Trans hmm.
Not a lot I'd imagine. They'd just be getting on with the business of being a child

No wonder so many children are confused, when they're having it pushed down their throats 24/7.

Starmer isn’t doing Labour any favours is he? Sort out Some leadership man!

Galaxy So frustrating !
What is Starmer thinking about, he needs to get on top of this now. (Or is he just "keeping his powder dry")

Well done Labour, power was actually vaguely in your grasp but no you decide this is the hill you want to die on.

At last some common sense!

I would not want my child making such a huge, life- changing decision until they are eighteen. As DiamondLily says, if they still feel the same then fine. Hopefully, the young people get counselling and support throughout.

But, Johnson changes his mind as well - he just says what he thinks is popular with whoever he's talking to. ?

I don't think anyone, under 18, should be allowed to make life changing decisions, which they may (and have) changed their their minds about later.

If they still feel the way they do, as legal adults, then fine, do what you need to do.

Teenage years are full of angst, uncertainty and confusion at times - but most of it passes.

I totally agree with this decision. Children when young can be easily influenced or uncertain.

“I don't think that it's reasonable for kids to be deemed so-called Gillick-competent to take decisions about their gender or irreversible treatments that they may have. I think there should be parental involvement at the very least," he said.

Better late than never Boris.
