But the pathologist and the neuro pathologist both considered that his death had nothing to do with her actions and legally that is the bottom line.

Doesn't mean that she isn't probably an unpleasant young woman.

Surely she should have been charged with manslaughter?

Cracking his head on the pavement was the cause of death but if she hadn't hit him, he would not have fallen and cracked his head.

A 6 month curfew isn't nearly enough!

He might have died of a heart problem or an abnormality of the brain or anything else just not a head injury. That's what I read. Deedaa is right thought. Hope she learns from this but sadly probably not.

I found this a very puzzling case. How could the two things not be connected? Whatever he died of surely wouldn't have happened had she not knocked him over. Still, I fully admit I wasn't there and haven't heard the evidence, so I cannot act as judge and jury. I can only hope they got it right.

It’s beyond me how any rational person could conclude that the punch which landed him on the ground and unconscious, could have had nothing to do with his death. So he was going to die anyway that week was he? Even if he hadn’t been punched? I think not!

It’s impossible to understand without hearing the pathologists’ evidence.

There is no defence for the violence displayed by this young woman. Id be surprised if it isn’t a pattern of behaviour but, the Judge will have seen the report and heard evidence from the pathologist. The Court concluded the punch didn’t contribute to his death.

The one and only time I have been in a Court of Law was to serve as a juror, and the case was very similar to this one.

Be careful of making assumptions based on reporting from the Daily Express, or anywhere else really, since there are things that will have been talked about in court that none of us know about. Its certainly not a foregone conclusion that the after effects of the punch killed him.

We all want simple answers to complex problems. They don’t exist.
My experience of courts is the forensically look at evidence. That’s a good thing.
This young woman sounds like someone to avoid

Ok, it could not be proved but it is an extraordinary coincidence.
That is not enough for a conviction, I do realise how xpert witness evidence works.

Until the next time she loses control and hits someone harder.

Maybe she has learned a lesson. I hope so.
