Just that really. She's not being seen in public. She allowed PA to accompany her to DoW's memorial. M&H have flown in to see her.

Not looking good. I'm no monarchist, but it ain't gonna be good when she goes.

Maybe Harry went to see her to say goodbye? A natural thing to do. Not that anyone would be told , none of our business.

Exactly.

You are correct that it doesn’t make that person a nasty bleeep , bleep, but it does portray a vary narrow mind set.

Why narrow minded ? I’m not saying others should not be sad, I just sai “each to their own “. I think it’s more narrow minded to insist everyone should be sad !

Maybe it depends if you are used to black humour. My family have always treated death with a degree of humour and have made numerous jokes about it.

I apologise for my post at 00.34. The final sentence wasn't directed at you Dickens, it was general frustration at some posts on the forum that seem to delight in being extra horrible about an old lady, just because of her position. I can see it wouldn't have been clear, sorry.

Who has been vicious ? Nasty ? Or a bastard ?

Just because some won’t be actually sad when a 95 year old dies doesn’t make them nasty or vicious. Each to their own.

vicious, nasty b*stard

Bit strong!

And I'm not even a royalist!

*If you're a vicious, nasty b*stard to any other human then carry on*

Woah ! Where did that come from ?

Good grief!
Where indeed Lucca?

In her 80s my grandmother used to speculate about her own death all the time-she lived to 90. When going on holiday she would warn us that we didn't need to bring her body back "if owt 'appens".

^Speculating on anyone's imminent demise is not very nice for the person involved. Under the circumstances I suppose it's natural though.^
Maybe, but there can still be an element of human decency. The queen may have led a life of privilege (albeit in a goldfish bowl) but she is a human being and deserves the same level of respect and consideration as you'd afford any other human being. If you're a vicious, nasty b*stard to any other human then carry on, or else moderate your response to her as you would anyone else.

I've been involved in 3 conversations about this. It is a topical subject, regardless of how tasteless some find it.

Speculating on anyone's imminent demise is not very nice for the person involved. Under the circumstances I suppose it's natural though.

What is tasteless is not the question so much as the casual inquisitiveness it engenders.

I may be a Republican, but I hope she has a few more good years ahead of her. Why? Because (to me) she represents a 'constant'. She may not be doing what many people consider to be an actual job but she committed herself to doing what she considered her duty. And that's what she's done. When she goes, it will be the end of an era.

For the doom and glooms were not Harry andMeghan on their way to the Invictus Games so hardly uusual to 'call in' on his grandmother enroute.?

BigBertha1 Sat 16-Apr-22 22:18:32

It used to be Treason to speculate on the death of a Sovereign. Do leave off she will die when God and she are ready.

I'm just wondering if she did die before June have they got a look-alike hidden away somewhere who they can bring out so the celebrations still go ahead?
There must be an awful lot of money involved.
Is that why we aren't seeing much of her? So we don't spot the difference?
(apologies to the easily offended)

Careful trisher. That might be inciting treason!

Oh no there goes my head!
Which reminds me have you noticed how she is always wearing a wide brimmed hat, and she keeps looking down!???

Bridgeit Sat 16-Apr-22 21:45:23

Apologies NOT accepted.
