Is the demise of QE imminent?

Just that really. She's not being seen in public. She allowed PA to accompany her to DoW's memorial. M&H have flown in to see her.

Not looking good. I'm no monarchist, but it ain't gonna be good when she goes.

QE -quantitate easing?

Witzend Fri 15-Apr-22 17:54:22

She’ll have been weakened by covid - no joke at her age, I’m sure.
I for one will be very sad when she’s gone. I wouldn’t write her off just yet, though - good genes. Didn’t the Queen Mother go on to 102?

Smileless2012 Fri 15-Apr-22 17:55:59

It will be sad GagaJo. Not sure that being accompanied by PA was a red flag. He's her son and it was his father's memorial service.

As for H wanting to see his GM, well she's an old lady so there's no knowing if he'd have got the opportunity to see her again. If the visit was because of her failing health, it's a pity they didn't bring the children with them or have visited her when they could have.

Can’t spell -“quantitative easing.”

Crikey ?

I do hope the Queen is well enough to celebrate her 70th jubilee and go on for a few more years. She is the one stable element of our present parlous state.

We need to rid ourselves of our corrupt incompetent government and lying PM ASAP.

We sorely need electoral reform to become a true democracy, not a sham FPTP democracy like Belarus. We need a bit of stability.

God Save the Queen.

and again Crikey!

JaneJudge Fri 15-Apr-22 18:15:21

when is the jubilee?

Urmstongran Fri 15-Apr-22 18:21:16

2nd June I think.
I wonder if she’s ‘saving herself’ and being super cautious? She will be aware of the huge logistics & planning that will have gone into organising all the celebrations. Plus the minting of coins, production of tea towels, commemorative tat etc.
Goodness, if I were her age I’d be scared of becoming ill and ‘letting the nation down’.
Not that it could be helped ... of course. But just thinking about it would make me feel anxious!

Hope you keep well in the meantime Ma ‘m and for a good long while afterwards!

Well I lost my mum at 101, and can say that the Queen is nowhere near dying yet as far as I can make out.

She won’t have decades yet of course?, but she will totter on for a bit more.

She is so like my mother in her aging, although I think she is ahead of mum at 95/6 in her aging, so may not make 101.
But on the other hand she will have the very best of care.
I think the fact that we have so little experience of dealing with dying, that we mistake aging as being near death when in fact it is simply just aging. I found that my day to day care of mum until her death has taught me a huge amount about dying, bit late really seeing as I’m 76??.

I’m not a royalist but I find speculation about the queen’s demise rather tasteless.

varian Fri 15-Apr-22 18:28:25

I agree Espee

It has been so throughout the thousand+ years.

Lucca Fri 15-Apr-22 18:33:46

Groundhog Day. . Haven’t we been through all this today ?

Rosie51 Fri 15-Apr-22 18:39:46

None of us can know, but I do find it distasteful speculating on anyone's 'imminent death'.

It's bad enough all the preparation that has been done with regards to broadcasts etc for when it does happen.

Kim19 Fri 15-Apr-22 18:45:21

And another crikey here. Honestly...........

GrannyLaine Fri 15-Apr-22 18:54:06

angry Crikey indeed!

GagaJo Fri 15-Apr-22 18:59:56

I didn't want to add it to someone else's thread.

If you find it distasteful, move on. It will have been discussed in royal circles. She is 95.

Same thing happened last year with DoE, when he was unwell and disappeared from view. I think it's why M&H have flown in.

Casdon Fri 15-Apr-22 19:07:49

I don’t think she’s ill, she’s got mobility problems, which at 95 is usual unfortunately. She’s been spotted walking her dogs, driving round Sandringham etc. and done online meetings in the last two or three weeks.

JenniferEccles Fri 15-Apr-22 19:10:36

I agree that a thread started specifically to speculate about how soon the Queen will die is distasteful in the extreme.

Casdon Fri 15-Apr-22 19:10:51

This was only 4 days ago, she looks fine.

M&H have ‘dropped in’. They were flying to Europe anyway for the Invictus Games.

Killing two birds with one stone springs to mind.

maddyone Fri 15-Apr-22 19:20:17

Oh dear, I hope not. The country is just about to celebrate her jubilee so I hope she’ll be here to do so.
I’d be happy if that ended the monarchy but I don’t think it will.

Grandma70s Fri 15-Apr-22 19:27:59

Doesn’t the date of the Jubilee depend on her accession, rather than the coronation? In which case it was in February, not June, and she has already achieved it. I know the celebrations are in June.
