62% of the voters in Blaenau Gwent voted for Brexit, which was the highest percentage in Wales. Labour have today regained control of the council.

It was rather odd because, in some areas, voters were able to go to a polling station on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to cast their votes.
It's a pilot scheme I believe.

Roza Salih ,asylum seeker- Glasgow Girl now Glasgow city councillor.I and many of us are as delighted for her as she is for herself .Onwards and upwards Roza well done.

We had a 47% turnout in East Renfrewshire I think, very disappointing.
However, I was delighted to see an ex pupil, was elected a a councillor for the first time. Well done!

In my West of Scotland ward the Tories got ....(drum roll) 666 votes .Much hilarity about the number as folk here tend to think of tories as spawn of the devil ,now its official with the vote number .lol

I was expecting a larger swing towards Labour after many years of a Conservative Government along with the controversy surrounding the current cohort.

I wasn’t expecting a good result for Labour.

Largely because they have such an enormous mountain to climb after 2019. That result was a disaster, and one would never expect a political party who did so spectacularly badly to get the sort of support that they have achieved so soon after that disastrous election.

The really interesting election is Northern Ireland. So many ramifications - and not just for NI - if Sinn Fein win.

The pundits weren’t predicting that to happen though, as most of the councils were already Labour held in England, and they currently hold more of the contested seats than all the other parties added together. What I think is the important message is how many people didn’t vote Tory who did last time, whoever else they did vote for. It’s very interesting times politically for sure.

Plympton Chaddlewood (Plymouth) election result:

Green GAIN from Conservative

Grn: 57.7% (+57.7) ?
Con: 34.9% (-26.4)
Lab: 7.4% (-23.6)

I can remember when Chaddlewood was green - literally!!
Wall to wall housing and an industrial estate now.

Overall projection

Labour 35%

Tory 30%

Libs 19%

Other 16%

Tories in choppy waters. They have quite severe storms ahead.

Labour certainly now in the running which no body thought would happen in 2019. They have everything to play for. A lot of work ahead.
Lib - best local election results since the massive error of going into coalition.

I had the option of three votes but could only manage one and that was with serious difficulty. Toyed with spoiling my paper but can't manage as it feels too much like an act of vandalism even although I know they are scrutinised.

Again, as someone outside the bickering, I don't think he will change his trajectory.

The people he has to persuade outside London seem to be ex-Brexiteers. I don't think the left would have any effect on their views. Isn't it more a case of sitting it out and letting them see just what Brexit has done to the country. Just my "un-party" opinion.
