I agree that BJ looks extremely untidy (that’s my polite way of putting it grin) but my sympathies go to Carrie because my husband often looks extremely untidy. He says he’s working in the garden which is true. He scrubs up well when he makes the effort. It’s the making the effort which is the problem. I’m not sure that whatever Carrie said would make any difference. She always looks nice though.

But Johnson hasn’t got away with it on this thread and no
comparison with Corbyn and Michael. Corbyn chose his clothes, Michael wore smart clothes but his disability caused him to look he was wearing scruffy clothes.

I would never have mocked Mr Foot.
And I know all about the ‘donkey jacket’ that never was.
It was more along the lines of what Corbyn got treated to in my opinion.
Whereas Johnson seems to get away with it. He doesn’t even look clean these days

Anniebach Wed 18-May-22 08:57:46

Mocking Boris reminds me of the mocking of Michael Foot

The Queen looked lovely in her yellow outfit I thought and very happy. I hope she continues to opt for occasions she enjoys and leaves the rest of the family to do the other less enjoyable ones.
Buffyfly I expect Boris does his own thing regardless of Carrie. I don't tell my husband what to wear or how to cut his hair etc.

Fennel

I loved the colour of her outfit Apricot?

Nooo!
It’s buttercup yellow.
Apricot is pale orangey pink.
Or pinky orange..?

FannyCornforth Wed 18-May-22 08:40:01

It’s a look only the very rich can get away with as practicalities don’t need to be considered.

Has anyone noticed that Meghan, Catherine, and some other famous people are wearing those wide leg trousers actually sweeping the floor at the moment. They must be filthy when they get home. Especially if they’re white like the ill fitting trouser suit Meghan wore at the Invictus Games. The Queen will never get away with it however fashionable it might be. She’d fall over, and so would I.
I think that’s a fashion trend I shall give a miss to.

In the Telegraph today from yesterday’s visit to open the new Crossrail Line named after her at Paddington Station. I think she looks absolutely radiant! Her smile reaches her eyes these days. I think although she’s sad about Prince Philip no longer with her, that worry and anxiety over his health issues has been lifted from her shoulders. She’s had Covid and now looks so well.

maddyone Wed 18-May-22 08:28:01

Said in jest about Meghan, but very true grin

maddyone Wed 18-May-22 08:27:11

Fanny I love that episode of Fawlty Towers. In fact I loved them all. Sadly I think it would be deemed unsuitable these days.

nanna8 Wed 18-May-22 08:25:58

Naw- bags of doodoo have a bit of shape and style to them. Plus they're good for the garden.

maddyone Wed 18-May-22 08:25:21

I did see the Queen at the tube yesterday, not personally of course, just on the television, but I missed the others who are in the photograph. I’ve only seen that today on here.

FannyCornforth Wed 18-May-22 08:24:06

To paraphrase Basil Fawlty;

‘Don’t mention Meghan!!
I did it once , but I think I got away with it!’

Fanny smile

Thank you! I don’t want to fall out. Especially about Johnson of all people! smilethanks

maddyone Wed 18-May-22 08:20:59

Actually, and it is only my opinion, I think Meghan looks pretty awful most of the time. Her clothes never fit her properly and often look too big.
As I said, just my opinion.

FannyCornforth Wed 18-May-22 08:20:18

The third post in mentioned the other dignitaries included the PM.
You can’t dictate what is discussed on a thread, it doesn’t work like that.
It’s hardly controversial to mention the PM when he was at the event in the opening post.

maddyone Wed 18-May-22 08:17:57

FannyCornforth Wed 18-May-22 08:17:04

Yes, maddy I’m aware that it’s my opinion, I never thought anything other than that

maddyone Wed 18-May-22 08:13:15

Fanny we weren’t discussing whether he’s an awful human being, we were discussing the Queen. Anyway it’s only your opinion and whilst many agree with you, it is an opinion.

FannyCornforth Wed 18-May-22 08:11:46

Calendargirl

How do we know that when Charles becomes King, he won’t rock up to functions in a daffodil yellow suit?

Or bright pink maybe?

?? ???

That would be fab!
Perhaps Michael Portillo could give him lessons in charismatic sartorial style ?

FannyCornforth Wed 18-May-22 08:08:38

But he does maddy

If it was said about H or M it would be untrue and unfair.

Johnson demonstrates no degree of respect to anyone, so I will not show him any either.

He is an awful, awful human being

I'm afraid our PM always looks like a bag of shit. Doesn't Carrie get the laundry done (bound to have a housekeeper) or feel the need to tell him to man up, get his hair seen to and have a bit of respect for the populace who have to look at him. If he was my husband his feet wouldn't touch the ground.

I agree he always looks untidy but find the description a bag of sh…. offensive.

maddyone Wed 18-May-22 08:04:33

FannyCornforth

Riverwalk good grief, he looks like a bag of s*
Our Prime Minister ?

If this comment was about Harry or Meghan it would be removed. It’s a horrible comment.
