He was only doing his duty
Sorry - in thanking his team.
I really can’t believe this is happening. Why is he still there?
I can’t believe that a man who is so incapable of doing anything much, is still our PM
Sue Gray will give Johnson the report today, for publication. Photos will also be published.
According to Downing Street, Johnson will make a statement, to the House after PMQ, then meet with the 1922 committee later, and then, finally, a press conference.
"Boris Johnson is bracing for the release of yet more Partygate pictures, this time from Downing Street's official photographers, as Sue Gray prepares to make the findings of her long-awaited report public today.
Mr Johnson is expected to apologise to Parliament, the public and his own MPs over Partygate in a bid to soak up criticism from the official report into the row later today, even with more snaps from No. 10's vanity photographers poised to hit the press.
Deploying a 'masochism strategy', the Prime Minister will 'take responsibility' for lockdown rule-breaking in Downing Street, which is set to be savaged in the much-anticipated report.
In a display of contrition, the PM will then make a statement to Parliament before holding a press conference and then addressing Tory MPs at a meeting of the backbench 1922 Committee."

He's just been delivered to the back door to avoid the protesting crowds in Whitehall. 2019 new intake red wall MPs lining up to support him saying he is wonderful. Jeez.
*know (oops - I blame autocirrect)
*correct
- that was my fat fingers!

^He'll try to pull something out of the hat to rally the faithful... but even they are deserting him.^
I'm sure that he'll be reassured to know that he'll always be able to count on Ug.... and Nadine...

“One Conservative MP this afternoon: “Today is the day the Prime Minister is safe. Today is also the day the Conservatives lost the next general election .”
That was Toby Ellwood, I think WW2. Roger Gale has submitted his letter and hinting at a Sept election. Mostly older, experienced MPs expressing loss of confidence.
Sam Coates explained on Sky News how the Sue Gray report, whilst scathing, actually fails to indict Johnson for anything beyond what he received a fine for.....and she never investigated the Abba party because the Met didn't.
Another establishment stitch-up and on (and on) he goes.....
Latest odds for Boris to still be PM in 2024 are 4/5 on. Always follow the bookies!
The irony is that the red wall seat campaigns were won using Ehud Sheleg's donations to Tory party funds, money that came from his father-in-law Sergei Kopytov a former high-ranking pro-Kremlin politician. And now Johnson dares to say he has to carry on serving to win the war [in Ukraine] for us. The establishment stitch up to put and keep Johnson in power goes far beyond illegal parties. The hypocrisy of the man and the self-serving greed of the 2019 intake that even Mark Spencer, Leader of the House said is poor quality, is staggering. The electorate were conned and need to wake up.
Goodness, if you can’t hang him one way you’ll keep pulling stuff out of your knicker elastic! This won’t end. This will roll on for months.

Of course it will roll on, his Partygate skeletons aren’t all out of the closet yet, never mind all the other revelations. One thing I will say is that it’s not dull.

Allegedly, Johnson is an expert in pulling and knicker elastic.

No. He’s odds on to cling on to the leadership till 2024. But Keir is 5/1 favourite to be the next PM. Just checked on Oddschecker British politics.
He may well cling on, but the one senior Tory said today that they have lost the next general election.

The messengers, custodians, clerks, cleaners in Number 10 were among the nicest and most helpful people you could ever wish to work with. Only in a culture of privilege and snobbery would they be subject to the kind of thing revealed in Sue Gray report. This is all on him.
Alastair Campbell
I wish this would open the eyes of some ordinary working class people who voted for him.
His utter contempt for the 'lower orders' has been noted at Eton, and his disdain for 'blue-collar' workers is on record.
He doesn't give two hoots about the 'man in the street' and yet that same 'man' will call him "Boris" as if he's a personal friend... and vote for him again.
According to Johnson it was imperative, important and necessary to eat, drink and mix with colleagues who were leaving their job.
But, also according to Johnson, it wasn't imperative, important or necessary for relatives to be able to say goodbye to dying loved ones (some of whom were children), or for the bereaved to be allowed to hold "proper" funerals, or sit with each other at the funeral service or afterwards.
Strange logic.?
This is what I remember my friend telling me who worked at No 10. If they wanted a Christmas drink they would go to the pub.
“Kirsty McNeill
Parties at No 10 in the old days.
“GordonBrown would hand out very thoughtfully chosen books and tell some jokes. There would be some singing. He’d say “thanks for all you do” and we’d wish each other Merry Christmas and think it was the greatest honour of our lives to serve.“
It’s the Bullingdon Club imported to No 10 isn’t it, right down to sneering at the less privileged, like burning money in front of the homeless.
Could you find a more awful example of snobbery?
The report is so vanilla that Johnson is now claiming that it vindicates him.

Truth Twister in chief...
Remember 'that' tweet from a couple of years ago? Johnson personified.

Arrogant and offensive. Can you imagine having to work with these truth twisters?
An ex Tory minister, who served under Thatcher and Major, made the point, on TV this morning, that this would never have happened in their day.
In fact, he said the place was "cathedral like" under Thatcher - people working quietly, showing respect to each other, cleaners and everyone else, and not bringing the place into disrepute,
Staff were politely thanked, at Christmas or if leaving, given a small gift, and they celebrated in their own time, away from Downing Street.
I can't see it would have happened under Theresa May either.?
Still, if you put a self serving oaf in charge, you get yobbo-ish behaviour.?
The fish rots from the head down.
...and meanwhile a generation of young people are learning that you can behave as you want and just lie about it afterwards with no consequence.
While disagreeing with them, I hope I always understood that most people who supported him broadly did so for good reason.
But from this point on they are all just enablers. There are some decent Tory MPs, there just doesn't seem to be 54 decent Tory MPs out of 359.
