Best news I've heard all week.

Maudi Sat 11-Jun-22 10:22:06

I've noticed when certain left leaning posters haven't got an answer or don't like a post they try and make fun of the poster.

I suppose it makes them feel good about themselves hey ho whatever floats your dinghy smile

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Jun-22 10:20:08

How is punishing the victims morally or even legally right?

volver Sat 11-Jun-22 10:18:26

I wasn't arguing about the moral issue of deportation, I was saying that anything that stops the traffickers must be good.

Well we could shoot the migrants as they arrive on the beach here. Or at least sink their boats mid Channel and not save them from drowning.

That would stop the traffickers. Would that be good?

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Jun-22 10:17:24

Whatever Patel argues there is no doubt that she is guilty of practicing a form of rendition.

I think it may catch on.

Sweden are talking to Rwanda and Ghana about sending some of their asylum seekers there, and America are, apparently, talking to Spain about sending some of theirs over to Spain.

Perhaps global dispersion will be seen as some sort of answer to stop this trafficking.

It did work with Australia. As soon as enough people realised they wouldn't be able to stay where they liked, the trafficking trade dried up.

Which is good - people trafficking is an evil trade, and despite the money we've given them, the French show little enthusiasm for stopping it at their borders, and keeping the migrants there.?

Like others, I'm not going to engage and maybe the people who think this is a good idea can revel in their echo chamber.

However, I will correct disinfirmation.

The people going from the US to Spain will be temporary workers. Australia's system resulted in people losing their minds in detention, or killing themselves, and they have been widely criticised for the approach. I don't know about Sweden and Ghana, but I'm sure you have all the facts readily available. hmm

Lots of things "catch on" but that doesn't make them right. Deportation and slavery "caught on", but for all the wrong reasons.

At least I'm getting a list of people who are to be avoided in other threads.

Trafficking is evil. ?

Oldnproud, I’m not sure you are exaggerating. I’m certain you’re right that some posters would cheer on plans to deport ‘undesirables’.

Oldnproud Sat 11-Jun-22 09:50:54

If the Government is actually allowed to do this, where might it end?

Not far down the line they might decide to start sending British 'undesirables' too - the homeless, the long-term unemployed, those who through physical or mental ill health will never make a net monetary contribution to the country's finances, criminals ...

This could be the tip of the iceberg.

OK, I'm probably exaggerating, but scarily, there are some on here who I think would still be cheering the Government on if that were to happen!

People need to listen to this. This is a transcript of some of what this poor man said:

I wanted to stay in Syria. I never wanted to be called a refugee ... I stayed as long as I could hoping that things would change. Then Russia came with their airforce. Russia is responsible for mass destruction in Syria. Russia used weapons that nobody could even imagine. Rockets and airborne weapons. The airplanes would come over our neighbourhoods and leave them completely destroyed. Nothing is left. There were massacres. I feel happy for Ukrainians because they found someone to stand with them ...

So, I ask those people saying it is right to send refugees to Rwanda, why do we care more about a Ukranian refugee than a Syrian refugee forced to flee under the same circumstances? Both deserve our compassion and support.

Did Priti Patel receive advice from the EU on how to do this.
They had the idea long before her.

Not sure if your point?

Can anyone link the led by donkeys latest video. It shows the story of one asylum seeker being held in a detention centre.

They would now be productive members of our society

Whitewavemark2 Sat 11-Jun-22 08:48:20

Here is something interesting

If we had accepted every single asylum seeker last year it would have meant that it would have less than one person for every single city, town or village.

Kandinsky Sat 11-Jun-22 08:32:10

At least I'm getting a list of people

There!s something really sinister going on there.

The government has repeatedly stated that our doors are not completely shut to all immigration, in that these in genuine need who apply through the accepted channels, will have their cases examined.
This system will enable us to choose who comes here, to choose those who have skills needed to enable them to work, pay taxes and contribute to our country.

Tens or hundreds of thousands turning up in flimsy dinghies on our shores is wrong on every level.

Thankfully those on here claiming to be horrified at the government’s attempt to defeat the evil of people smuggling are very much in the minority in this country.

We voted to protect our borders.

You are certainly not alone Urms!

Kandinsky Sat 11-Jun-22 08:20:15

I'd like to know what the lefts solution is to this problem, open borders let all and sundry in?

Basically yes.

Urmstongran Sat 11-Jun-22 08:16:55

Maudi I think there is a silent majority who agree. Just less representation on GN!

Once the flow across the Channel in rubber dinghies becomes a mere trickle the flights will stop. Word will have got round we mean business. The softly-softly approach hasn’t worked.

I notice those who don’t agree with Boris, Biden or Mr. Albanese aren’t coming up with alternative solutions.

Maudi Sat 11-Jun-22 08:07:53

I'm with Urmstongran on this ?

I'd like to know what the lefts solution is to this problem, open borders let all and sundry in? Then moan that the NHS queues are getting longer, build more accommodation to house them all while British people have been waiting years to get a place of their own then moan Boris is not building enough houses, will they only be happy when England's green and pleasant land has disappeared under bricks and mortar perhaps build tower blocks to ruin our landscape.

The only people benefitting are the so called human rights lawyers (I wonder if they would pursue these cases if there was no legal aid, I doubt it) they are getting richer by the day and the people smuggler gangs growing wealthy on the backs of the desperate. Seems the left think this is OK.

Something has to be done as they are entering our country illegally. & risking their lives in the process.
This thread will never be a true reflection of how the majority of people in this country feel about this issue. most will agree with the op.
